So let me start by saying we ALL get a craving for some junk food every now and again. Some more than others. Don't worry y'all I was looking in the mirror when I made that statement. 😆
Anywho, my "go to" at Sonic is the Extreme Tater Tots. Hear me out, it's an off menu item that is screaming good. There's Tater Tots, cheese 🧀, onions 🌰, jalapeño, chili and ranch. What's not to love?!?! I'll wait..... This time I ordered my "go to" but I also decided to be adventurous and get one of their new Southwest Chicken Wraps. I was too excited to try it.
Here's where the issues began. Pulled up, entered in the app what stall I was in. Very sweet lady, I think her name was (Callie) brought me my order. I immediately noticed that my Tater Tots weren't wrapped in the paper they use to cover the container. This was a "to go" order so if that would've turned over in the bag that would've been a MESS!!! The lady kindly went and got a bag for me and the fork and ranch that was also forgotten. She was the highlight of this whole experience.
As I said before I was so excited for the chicken wrap that I just opened it immediately and went for it and boy was I shook. This was single handedly one of the WORST things I've ever eaten as an item for carry out. I should really say tasted cause I couldn't even eat it. The chicken inside was like a chicken tender that had been sitting for a week and burnt to a crisp in dirty oil. The queso sauce was gloppy and gross 😝. The tortilla was old and I could tell because it was cracking and not soft when I took a bite. To add insult to injury my Extreme Tater Tots were thrown together any-kind-of-way with the Tater Tots having that same overcooked in old oil nasty taste.
When I tell you this whole experience was bad with the exception of the car hop - I seriously mean it. I might as well had lit the money on fire I spent cause it was a total WASTE. Needless to say I won't be returning to this location and honestly I'm reevaluating my food relationship with Sonic at this point. I'm thinking break up - what...
Read moreI was there on Sunday 8/6/23 around 5pm and placed an order for 2 different Combos. I did upgrade each Combo with large Tots & drinks. I was told they no longer offer the Large Milkshake & had a Medium size with the Dbl Bacon Cheeseburger Combo. The 2nd Combo was the Footlong Coney, large tots & large Cherry Limeade. I received my Dbl Bacon Cheeseburger Combo correctly, but was charged an additional $3.39 for ONLY a large Cherry Limeade with no coney dog & tots Combo. The carhop lady (Amelia?) was very nice, apologized & got the rest of the Combo order. I was charged on my credit card $20.05 and $9.80= $29.85. Somehow, I think I was overcharged a bit, the large Cherry Limeade was $3.39 due to their screw-up instead of the usual .80cents to upgrade on a Combo. I also was charged the individual prices on the Ft Long Coney dog & large tots Combo. Their ordering screens needs to be repaired since the option to use a credit card was not listed. It actually wanted me to download their App and pay from the App. Seriously?? The food was about average and the first Combo of tots got cold waiting on the 2nd Combo. I'll drive further to go to a different Sonic even though this location is about 3 blocks from me. Sonic, you can do better than this!!
08/15/23 Update: Sonic's Customer Care Team did communicate with me several times. Basically, I was overcharged by $2-$3 for 2 Combos that had not been charged correctly and prices were for individual items instead of the Combo pricing. I changed the 3 Star rating to 4 Stars only because I had been contacted due to their concern. I did not require any compensation for the ordering error, but only wanted to point out what had happened with my...
Read moreThis happened months ago but I just remembered thanks to an article I saw about an entitled starbucks worker who just threw a customer's change into the tip jar instead of giving it to her directly. Months ago I ordered a meal and paid in cash instead of card as usual and the drive thru cashier (white male, thin, looked kinda sketch/sus if you know what I mean) said my change "was only" like 53 cents and asked if I'd like to let him keep it. I was so flabbergasted he just boldly said that instead of giving me my change back like 99.9% other drivers thru cashiers do that my mind froze and I couldn't process what he just said. I just said "uh sure..." and he kept it sure enough. It was the audacity that effed me up, I've never had a cashier just feel entitled to keep my money instead of give it back when they didn't even go above and beyond their normal job duties or anything. They literally just handed me the food I ordered and felt they deserved to keep my change as a tip. I'll never forget that happened and I suggest you tell employees that's unacceptable behavior toward customers. People tip if you did something outside your job role AND they feel you deserve it. To just assume you deserve it and ask to keep it is shocking and rude and gross and shouldn't...
