Honestly was extremely disappointed & I think this is definitely one of the worst I’ve been to in a long time. Theres no assigned seats so if it’s ever busy i recommend getting there very early to get good seats, me & my friend were the only ones there so thankfully this didn’t effect us. My first impression walking in was very awkward because they had 5 or so employees up front who didn’t greet us or acknowledge us until we stood there a bit waiting to figure out which register to go to (there’s no signs & they are chatting in groups at different registers). We then got some snacks & took a quick bathroom break before the movie. The bathrooms closest to the lobby are tiny where if you got broad shoulders like me your on the walls to use the urinal & to wash your hands (bathroom further back was bigger for some reason). They didn’t give instructions on where to go other than “it will be in room 8”, & to be honest they need some signs because it was a little bit confusing where to go to find the room. Once in the room it had smelled like mold & dust ( I ended up with a stuffy nose from my 1 movie). The seats in the room also smelled bad, felt dirty, had holes in them, & were extremely tight to sit in if you’re a bigger person. I personally am on the heavy side & have some back issues & these seats not only were tight, but it hurt my back & my legs felt squished by the amount of leg room (felt like a small airplane with stadium seats). During the trailers we had the sound go out for one of the trailers, & during the movie only the speakers behind the screen worked. The volume suffered from the lack of working speakers to the point I didn’t hear what was said a couple time during the movie. I personally enjoy the surround sound & immersion in a movie theater, but that just simply wasn’t the case here. After our movie we headed out & the employees were still just hanging out & chatting, I made sure to look at them a few times & even though they saw us; we didn’t get a “have a good night” or anything… this place honestly overall needs some TLC, better employees, less employees, some cleaning, & some fixing. I’m not one to give 1 star often, but this place...
Read moreFirst things first, their projection quality was fantastic. That’s really the most important part. The picture was in focus, the sound was good. The lamp was bright. We watched two movies and enjoyed both of them. The food and the snacks were good. Experience enjoyed. Mission accomplished.
Now,
I visit a lot of theaters and I try to watch at least 2 movies per week. Typically, if a theater has an issue, it’s a projection issue or a bad speaker, etc.
I’ve worked at a handful of different theaters. I’ve been to hundreds of theaters.
THIS is, I believe, the most disgusting theater that I’ve ever been to. The old school neon carpet has turned black, as have many of the auditorium seats. There’s a layer of sticky grime on nearly every surface, from the floors, to the counters, to the walls. The theater smells like soiled trash. Or like, that stinky bar smell (you know the one). While it is an issue of cleanliness, I can hardly blame the staff. This is an issue that has been LONG overdue. Probably since AMC acquired the theater. So DO NOT blame the staff for this. Having worked in theaters for years, there’s only so much a handful of theater staff can do (or should be expected to do.)
The structure and the bones in the place are good. It’s interesting, some of the auditoriums have a VIP room in the very back; walled off by glass, with a set of its own personal speakers. It’s almost like a screening room that filmmakers would use to screen a film or something. A unique feature that I’ve never seen in a movie theater before. Also, like I said, the projection was great. The workers are tremendously kind. There’s literally nothing wrong with the staff. This place just needs to be cared for. It needs money from AMC corporate (or whatever) for an update. It does have the potential to be a nice theater again, and I hope that someday it will!
Don’t close it! I know it’s a good location and I know it gets busy because we went to a weekday matinee, which did have quite a few people in it. But these folks and the staff at this theater deserve a better work...
Read moreIm giving this a 3 due to how the manager handled the issue and how this has been our 1 and only time going that we had any issues. We love going to the Owasso theater. We prefer it over Bartlesville and Tulsa but tonight was not a good night. This lady and her husband and their 4 kids sat right below us. During the movie the mother nor the father could control their 2 younger kids. 2 of their kids sat quietly and was respectful to their mother when she told them to stop doing something. The other 2 ranging in age of maybe 4-6yrs old did not listen well which is expected sometimes but what was not expected was the mother letting both littler kids run freely for little moments at a time. They were loud and when the kids got restless, instead of taking them out of the theater, they just held their hands over their mouth and told them to shhhh. Which only made them more upset. Then to top it off the mother decides to pull out her phone and take pictures of her husband and kid together, an of course the flash was on! She didnt stop there, she then proceeded to take selfies of herself and one of her kids with the flash on knowing damn well we were directly behind her. I finally had enough of it and went to speak to a manager myself since when my husband did nothing was done. The manager was very respectful and apologetic. I was grateful for the way he listened to us and grateful for how concerned he was that didnt enjoy...
