Club One Fitness — Attraction in Oxford

Went in with my family to enquire about a family membership. We all stood at the counter for several minutes while the staff talked amongst themselves and were looking at their cell phones. When they noticed we weren't leaving, one guy finally asked if he could help us. It felt a LOT like we were bothering him. When asked about a membership for my wife, sons and I he showed us an old, laminated price chart but didn't discuss anything on it. I asked about their advertised child care and he pointed pointed across the gym to a door and said, "yeah we have a room over there where the kids can stay." He didn't offer to show us said room nor did he offer to show us around the gym. In fact, he didn't talk about the gym at ALL! What a disappointment. We left without so much as a flyer, business card or advertisement as none were given to us. All we know now is the place is depressingly industrial, lacks ANY windows, has a rude, disinterested staff and is pricey. Planet Fitness BLOWS this place away, is significantly cheaper and much nicer overall. Even the much smaller Anytime Fitness in Jacksonville had a much friendlier and informative staff. Save your time and skip this place....

The facility is great however I had an issue with one of the employees there. He was extremely rude to a paying friend that wanted to come workout with me and my wife. He acted as if we were trying to cause trouble because we called him over to the front desk to give him the money for her visit. She made a remark about the price going up from $5 to $8 and he just flipped out and started calling the owner and really made scene for no reason and asked my friend to leave. Me and my wife were blown away like "what just happened?" After telling a friend they suggested that the young man working that evening may have been exhibiting symptoms of what they call roid rage. Makes sense, don't know it to be true but why else would be escalate a situation way beyond necessity? Anyhow, that was my only issue with the place. Maybe they should limit his steroid use.. 🤷🏾‍♂️ This happened about a year ago btw.. Needless to say we didn't renew our membership. Would have rated this place much higher but this incident left...

The BEST gym! I moved to the area two years ago from out of state and I cannot stress how important it is for communities to offer affordable memberships that include childcare! Having not known a soul when we moved here with an infant, this gym was my only way to get in, "me time." I fell in love with weightlifting and I've made lifelong friendships with other members. They offer HIIT and step classes included in your membership and you can even pick up prepped meals from the local company, Healthy Crave Meal Prep. The staff is wonderful and the owners are great people. I wish every town had a Club One. Cannot recommend this...
