I hate to be so negative about a salon that seems to be so highly regarded but felt compelled to review my experience with a manicure. Made the appointment on Wednesday since my favorite nail salon had not reopened . Got confirmation the same day via text. Friday received reminder of Saturday 10 AM appointment which I confirmed. Arrived 15 minutes early and checked in. Was told Kenna would come to door when ready, fine, I was parked in front. Right at 10 stood in front of salon to be easily accessible, by 10;15 I decided I would give it 3 more minutes and then leave, it was still raining. A moment later Kenna appears, I asked if I had the appointment time wrong? No, she was a wee late. Ok, was taken to her cubby and instructed to choose a color. Humm, always used the same medium rusty orange, colors offered were very limited so I settled on one. Seems she either didn't do the half color style I always used. Or I didn't get my explanation clearly to her. So ok, please just do a regular manicure. Well from start to finish it was hardly a professional job even to the point of taking the file and correcting an obvious problem. She was pleasant but hardly a skilled manicurist. Received by bill, considering it very high but was just through with the experience, tipped appropriately Left without receipt that had to be emailed to me. Smudged one nail 3 minutes later, didn't consider 3 minutes under dryer adequate but at that point just was done. So at home looking at receipt, noticed I was charged $7.00 "sanitation fee"!! GADZOOK, she didn't even have me wash my hands after clipping, filing, & cuticle trim! I was offered a squirt of hand sanitizer when I checked in at the point my temperature was taken... This was the reason for a $7 "sanitation fee"??? Guess it was at that point I decided that it was necessary I write this review of...
Read moreI went to get extensions installed at The Hive on August 17, 2020. The first issue I had was that the color was NOT what I had asked for or was told that they were. I was told they were a neutral caramel color and they ended up being blonde when I showed up to my appointment, I had told her I toned my hair down to a caramel so that way she wouldn't have to color my hair that day because I didn't want her to and I told her that. She colored my hair to match the extensions, which was fine but by the end of getting them, she didn't thin them out at all. I had to go to another stylist to get them thinned out and texturized and recolored. I had move up August 28th where she was supposed to move up my extensions, my i-tips were moved up but she didn't move up my weft, or if she did she didn't do something right because I ended up getting my extensions taken out of my hair only to discover that all of my beads on the weft had fallen out and that my hair and extensions were matted. I worked in a salon for 3 years so I understand how it is, I called to try and talk to the stylist and was told that the reasoning for my extensions doing what they did was "because the way they were taken care of". I did exactly what I was told to do and even bought a $20 Bellami brush to help take care of the extensions. After talking with the stylist once on the issue, I was blocked on her social media after discussing with her about my service. I was told that the owner of the salon would get back to me and I have been waiting almost an entire week to get a call or get anything resolved. I wouldn't have resolved to putting a poor review if I would have gotten the service that I paid for and had quality communication about the issue...
Read moreScheduled an appointment with Kaleb based on a reference. Kaleb text to reschedule due to the weather, no big deal but this set the precedent for speaking directly to him. On the day of my appointment my son had a medical emergency that caused me to run late. I text to let Kaleb know. This is the day that the building collapsed on the square as well so I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to navigate the traffic and closed roads. Not being familiar with Ozarks Square made this difficult as well. I called Kaleb who didn't answer so I called the salon. Instead of trying to help me find the building I was reprimanded by the person who answered the phone. As I was trying to explain my situation and was walking up to the building from having parked down the road from the square the woman laughed and hung up on me. I attempted again to call back and Kaleb answered. Kaleb already determined he would 'put me in my place' as he would not stop talking over me to let me ask any questions or get a word in. I was completely confused and blown away. They both said I needed to reschedule, which I would have, yet neither even offered days or times when asked. Kaleb informed me that I should have known to call the salon directly and that is why he was upset instead of contacting him to let him know I was late b/c he doesn't check his phone but never was I informed of that in any of our other direct texts throughout other business days. I have never been made fun of, treated so poorly, and frankly bullied by a business. Yes I was late. As I let them know. I had no issue rescheduling but that was not actually offered. It was stated and then brushed over in the rhetoric of letting me know what a terrible, stupid person I...
