Grande River Vineyards — Attraction in Palisade

This was a very last minute planned trip to this winery. Wanted to have my adult children experience their first wine tasting and selected this place from photos and reviews. Did not disappoint. Staff was really friendly and patient. Scenery near the base of the mountain, along with the vineyard made for great photos. Randy went out of his way to give our family a free tour of the facility when I asked. Big selection for tasting. First 3 were free. Wine prices very reasonable with discounts offered. Picked up 3 bottles of reisling. Was in GJ (from Hawaii) for daughter's graduation with a hectic schedule but Grand River Vineyards gave us a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. We were passing through town this past Thursday and decided to stop in and grab a bottle. Anne convinced us to do a tasting. She and Onyx were very knowledgeable about all the wines, and educated us on a lot of the wine making processes. It was so fascinating! They even let us taste a freshly pressed juice. The wine, the juice, and the customer service experience was exceptional! At the end of our visit we actually ended up leaving with two bottles, the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Meritage Red, and a bottle opener so we could enjoy our wine on our trip. Grande River vineyards is an incredible winery with amazing award winning wines! In fact, it’s hard to pick which ones to buy, so the membership club is a good way to go. The grounds and tasting area are well kept and enjoyable. The owner and all the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Their hotel next door, wine country inn, is by far the best place to stay in the entire valley. It is quaint, beautifully landscaped, wonderful pool/hot tub, great breakfast and restaurant.
