After a long, hot work day all I wanted was some peach ice cream. I checked a couple places and nobody had anything! I'm cruising down the road towards the highway and I saw the Palisade Peach Shack. Surely this place must have ice cream? Peach ice cream, homemade from Palisade peaches? I pulled over, popped in and to my delight they not only had Peach, soft serve ice cream and they had free samples of cantaloupe, watermelon, and chips and salsa. As you can see from the pictures, they have several different types of ice cream, Hot and cold drinks, freshly picked peaches, pears, locally made salsas, syrups, jellies, chips, and pickled items, but wait, that's not all! Local artisans display their intriguing wares including jewelry, baking mixes, little aprons, and cute little odds and ends. The locally owned Peach Shack is a must stop when you are in Palisade Colorado, as this place has too many wonderful treasures to properly share in a review. Olathe sweet corn was sold out, however, there should be another delivery, the next day, so I popped in the following morning. The delivery truck had recently arrived from, Olathe, Colorado, so there was a plethora of sweet corn to be had. I purchased 12 ears and cannot wait to get home and dive in to this delightfully sweet, locally harvested corn. I doubt this load will make it through the day as there were people lined up to make their purchases, and the parking lot was packed! The staff is extremely accommodating, super polite, kind, and friendly. One very nice lady, I'm so sorry I didn't get her name, took a great deal of time answering all my questions and giving me ideas and advice.
The above information isn't even the best part, as they have locally made Kombucha in Peach, Hibiscus, and Lavender!!!!! The peach was available for tasting and it was very subtle, not too sweet, and quite refreshing. Due to being sold out, it was not available in the refillable glass jugs, so I decided to take the lavender home which was an excellent choice on my part. As it is fabulously yummy.
I suppose you could just pop grab a cone and then leave, however, because it was so much fun to peruse every nook and cranny, it took me over an hour to finalize my choices. Looking ahead to the holidays, The Peach Shack will be one of my first stops to fulfill my loved ones,...
Read moreDuring our impromptu stop in Palisade, we decided to visit a local market renowned for its fresh peaches. The market was a paradise for peach lovers, offering an incredible variety of peach-themed products, including jams, sauces, pies, ice cream, and even peach-flavored coffee. We couldn't resist indulging in fresh peaches, which were perfectly ripe and bursting with flavor.
In addition to the peaches, we treated ourselves to a coffee and some delicious peach ice cream, both of which provided a refreshing pick-me-up during our visit. The market featured a wide array of local goods, such as honey, jams, pickled items, and wines from the region. There were also plenty of unique gift items to browse through. While the market didn’t have indoor seating, there was a charming outdoor area in the back, equipped with tents and picnic tables, where visitors could relax and enjoy their purchases.
We spent a delightful amount of time exploring the shop, as there was so much to see and taste. The staff was friendly and efficient, adding to the pleasant experience. The peaches were undoubtedly the highlight—juicy and mouthwateringly delicious, they embodied the essence of a perfect summer fruit.
Our visit to this market made for a memorable first experience in Palisade. While there are many other attractions and places to explore in town, this market offered a quintessential taste of the region's renowned peach offerings. It was a stop well worth making, and we left feeling glad to have sampled some of the best produce Palisade...
Read moreWe were really disappointed with this shack. We got a sausage breakfast burrito, two buffalo chicken hand pies, a cherry hand pie, and a cold brew coffee. $33 without tip. The burrito had almost no sausage in it, was 1/2 potato, and quite dry and bland. The ranch that came with the Buffalo chicken hand pie had an eyelash in it, and the pies themself were not good. The cherry hand pie was very tart, I would guess they put the ripe ones in the baskets and the unripe ones get cooked down for the pies. The cold brew was maybe 1/2 a cup of coffee in a full cup of ice. Once our food was prepared we went in to get it from the counter, the woman behind the counter pointed to the food, which was missing the coffee, and turned around to do other things. We stood there for about 5 minutes waiting for someone to pay any attention to let them know the coffee was missing. Nobody paid us any mind so we finally spoke up and had to ask for it. The staff could use or more service training. We will not...
