Desert Oasis Healthcarereferal department — Attraction in Palm Springs

Horrible turn around time to approve referrals. My primary doctor has requested up to 4 times to get a referral approved and Desert Oasis does not even respond. They tell me they never got any of the requests even tho the requests were faxed to right number. And on some requests, Desert Oasis never responds.

On the rare chance that Desert Oasis acknowledges they got a request they have referred me to an office that did not have a glaucoma specialist even tho that was the referral request. Desert Oasis told me I could wait until the office they referred me to hired a glaucoma specialist.

My primary doctor sent a referral to Desert Oasis to have my arthritic hip looked at by a physician at Desert Orthopedic Center. I was currently seeing Dr. Gore for a knee problem. Dr. Gore does not do hips. Desert Oasis referred me to Dr. Gore. I called Desert Oasis and told them that Dr. Gore does not do hip that is why we requested a different physician in that office

Desert Oasis referred me to Dr. Lee, an oncologist for follow up treatment. I have had breast cancer and hogkins lymphomia. Dr. Lee started tracking my breast cancer even though it was a type of breast cancer that was considered cured after 5 years (and it had been over 5 years). I checked with City of Hope and they confirmed that Dr. Lee was indeed tracking the wrong cancer. I to switch to a different oncologist and that request was denied by Desert Oasis.

I saw Dr. Clement Chan regarding eye surgery for a macular pucker. I am now 50% blind in that eye. I cannot get straight answers from Dr. Chan as to what happened and I have caught him not telling me the truth several times. I asked for a referral to a different retinal specialist. Desert Oasis insisted that I continue to see Dr. Chan, who has permanently damaged my eye.

If you are not getting quality medical care, Desert Oasis will NEVER let you switch doctors. You are permanently stuck with the doctor they assign you to., even if the doctor is incompetent. I have had a few excellent doctors and I have had a few doctors that were incompetent. I am stuck with the incompetent ones according to Desert Oasis.

I gave a no-star review 2 years ago and of course it has been deleted in favor of undeserved positive reviews. In short AGAIN: Without investigation Oasis took a fabricated story from Suzette Janine Garcia, an unhinged 48 year old woman with a huge lying problem, no conscious and a grudge, told to a 6th floor nurses station at Desert Regional involving me hitting my very ill husband Jim. Oasis quietly moved Jim to their dismal for-profit nursing facility in Indio. It took me hours of calls and pleas to locate him. When I visited this appalling place an Oasis "caseworker", Robert Hopper, said I now had a case with Adult Protective Services, another dangerous clueless organization whose agenda, like Oasis, isn't about protecting adults. This Oasis "caseworker" and APS went after me with a vengeance. They barred me from seeing Jim while Rob Hopper made threats and caused such confusion I was terrified another clueless player in this travesty, all caused by the story weaved by Suzette Janine Garcia, would get involved and I would be charged with elder abuse. Hopper treated me like a prized trophy, a catch he needed to score points with Oasis. Oasis gave this troubled woman custody of terminally ill Jim for two long weeks. SJG harrassed me daily while I struggled to find anybody who could help me get my husband home. We had a wonderful 17 yr marriage and Oasis gave him to a maniac at this critical time while I was bullied from every direction. Two caseworkers who had never met Suzette came over to tell me Jim was going to live with SJG. I was helpless. The next day she tired of harrassing me and simply returned him to me, the accused abuser, by an exchange in a public place. APS and Oasis had no idea and when I told them the threats ceased and to this day I have not received my letter clearing me from these accusations. With egg on their faces these abusive dreamers stopped their bullying. Only money keeps me from forcing Oasis and SJG from telling their stories in court. Oasis has many other problems but this incident reveals the employee culture of anything to score points for this ignominious outfit even if its false...

This review is specifically for Sutter. I won't even call you a doctor. Moment she walked in she was scowling. No greeting. Fine, whatever. Asks me if I have any other paperwork. I tell her everything I have right now is recent. All she is focused on is my hashimoto's and that being why my ANA is positive, even though I have other blood work out of range that are lupus related. But to her it's "barely" high. So, what? We wait until it gets higher and I'm even more sick and in more pain?? Any time I try and speak with her she is YELLING over me. I said my primary sent me here because my blood work was indicative of lupus. She asked who he was and said he was an idiot without even knowing who. I love my doctor. He's very sweet and the fact he referred you and you want to speak ill of him? I've already called their office and let them know. Would not look at the photos I have taken FOR YEARS of my rash on my cheeks. I swiped to one photo and she throws her hands up and says "not on your nose not lupus." I have lots of other photos with it on my nose but she wouldn't look or listen. I ASKED her why she was being so mean and she just said "I'm not being mean" YES YOU WERE. I was literally crying in your office saying I've been sick for years and I can't do this anymore and 0 empathy. I have never met a more condescending human in my life. She asked if she could record the session because their system is "stupid." I gave her permission. How fast did you delete that? Id LOVE a copy and for it to go into my records. You are the most evil, cold hearted, condescending human I have ever met. As I said in the office, if you're having a bad day you don't bring that to your patients. You acted like I was a problem for you the moment you stepped through the door. I've never filed a complaint against anyone in my life but I'm taking this to the CA medical board and anyone else I can. If that's how you treat people, just retire...
