I had an iPad that wouldn't charge anymore because you couldn't put the charging cable into the charging port. I scheduled an appointment and took the iPad in for them to look at. With my internet search, I had thought that the charging port had come loose, and the port needed to be re-soldered and put back into place. The proprietor looked at it, and in about 2 minutes time, realized that the tip of a charging cable had broken in the charging port, and the metallic piece was blocking other cables from being inserted into the port. She used a pair of tweezers and fished the broken piece out of the charge port, and viola, it was fixed.
At this time, I was kicking myself for my idiocy, but I had come to her repair shop, and she had looked at the problem and solved it. She deserved to be compensated for her work, regardless of how easy it looks in hindsight - my belief here is that it's not the hindsight that matters, it's what I believed in at the time I walked into her shop. The technician's expertise and experience is what made the fix look easy, and I was willing to pay her for he time, expertise and experience.
To my surprise, the proprietor/technician simply stated that she wasn't going to charge me for a simple fix. I replied that it looks simple in hindsight, but she solved a real problem for me, and she put in some time/energy/effort into solving my problem, so it is my belief that she deserved to be compensated - whether it's $25 or $50, whatever a minimal shop charge is, that would seem fair to me. However, she insisted that she wouldn't charge me for such a simple fix, and instead, asked that I spread the word for her about her shop. So I said that I would.
So I don't have deep experience with this shop on how well they solve complex hardware issues, but just from this instance of very old fashioned customer service attitude, I would certainly give them a chance to fix my hardware for me, and I would suggest that anyone reading this review give them a chance as well. That's my two...
Read moreMy MacBook Pro which I use daily for business would hang after 5 or 10 min and require a "hard reset". Hector at Curetech suspected it was the SSD internal storage. He offered me two solutions, prices, trade-offs and how long it would take for me to be up and running. Very professional. I also saw this in their interactions with other customers while I was there . I am an engineer and have a basic technical understanding. I found Hector and his biz partner both capable and straightforward. Once I made my decision and the part was available, I was quickly on my way. I would...
Read moreI couldn't be happier with the services provided by Curetech. It's never a good time for your laptop to fail, but it happened to me on Thursday, July 3, right before the three-day holiday weekend. Curetech diagnosed my laptop issue same-day and worked through the holiday to get my laptop fully repaired by Saturday. They did not sugar coat anything and kept me updated the whole time during the repair, which was great. I was very impressed with their work and knowledge, so I am going to hire them to help me build a new computer that will be more robust and cost-effective...
