Been shopping here 9 years and have never had an experience like yesterday. Its rare I ever really have a bad experience at stores at all actually. Anyways here is the story time with full details. My friend and I were shopping and it was around closing time and the intercom was announcing that they were around time to close. We make our way to the counter and my friend and I check out and leave. As weāre in the car my friend says, āmine was kinda expensive wasnāt it?ā So we look at the receipt and one of her lounge sets was rung up duplicateā¦If you shop at tjmaxx you know how much those lounge sets cost. Also this is not to blame the girl who rung it up because accidents happen and as customers we should also know about how much the total will be. We only made our way back to the store because we remembered people were still shopping around in there. Once we go up to the door they are locked. Understandable because they are closed⦠but there were still people browsing in there and in line so we decided we were calling the store to explain the situation since we figured it was a quick fix. As we were calling we stand in the corner of the door and we see a customer walking out the exit and so we step into the first set of automatic doors. We donāt make it past the second set of doors or inside the store when the security peels her eyes open, hand motions and sternly says āuh uh weāre closed!ā āWe are closedā You would of thought we pulled up to the doors with guns and grenades in hand the way she scorned at us. She didnāt even care to listen to my friend/ the situation about the mistake.
I am notttt one to try to enter stores near closing time neither is my friend. I work retail as well and have worked big corporation and small business. That is NO WAY to talk to customers. I understand employees want to go home after their 9hr shift but even at your worst moments you must remain respectful: this comes with retail. If I see a customer that was JUST in the storeā¦walk back with the storeās bag in hand I know from experience, 90% of the time something went wrong or thereās been a mistake. I thought that was retail logic. If I were at MY job I couldnāt possibly send you away knowing it takes a second to fix AND others are still taking their sweet time browsing in the store. I dont know. Just be nice and logicalā¦listen to customers. It takes me so much more effort to be mean than nice. And we donāt get payed enough to care about making someones day miserable.
We were akwardly standing in between the automatic doors and a sweet girl came out from behind the registers to come help us. She goes back to the register to do the return while we were outside the store and we were not sure if we could leave or if she was going to come back so we slowly and awkwardly walk away. It was such an weird situation cuz we didnāt feel welcome to even step foot inside the store anymore with the security right there guarding the door. We didnāt know what to do. So when we were walking away the sweet girl, I believe her name is Karen, comes to chase us down to confirm the return and explains that the return will take a few days to go back on the card. Based on her facial expressions even she seemed confused or shocked as to why the Security was being a little out of line. As that was happening, the security says kinda loudly, āI dont know what yall are saying about me but iām a security and I canāt lets anyone in after certain timeā something along those lines basically trying to defend herself and not owning up to her attitude. She got very defensive and if that was her way of apologizing to us then she needs to seriously work on her communication skills. All this to say that Karen needs a raise⦠she handled the situation appropriately and honestly she made the bad situation not feel an terrible. I cannot thank Karen enough she was so so sooo kind. That was the attitude of a manager truthfully and I really hope she gets recognized for it because I know she probably doesnāt get payed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI must say without a doubt that I would NEVER waste my time trying to spend my hard earned money. I first walked into the store and looked around to find where the men's clothing was located, and when I located the area, I went to find a dress shirt or polo shirt to wear. After searching around for 15 minutes I found two shirts that was worth trying out and I decided that the second shirt wasn't my style so the option ended being one shirt.I took that one shirt and went to the fitting room and there's just two rooms so those rooms were being used. So I waited about 5 minutes just to try on this shirt and I have shirts at home the same size as the one I tried to buy. I took this shirt and placed it on my body, and when I said it went just halfway down, this was the smallest big shirt that I had ever seen. When I walked out of the fitting room the worker ask did I find what I was looking for and I told her ABSOLUTELY NOT and she told me that I could leave the shirt with her and I walked out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought this console on Sunday while shopping in Pensacola with my mother-in law. It wouldn't fit in our vehicle so we had them hold it. My husband just went to pick it up, and from the time I purchased it to just a few moments ago, somehow it got damaged. The store associate only offered 10% for the damage caused while it was in their possession. I asked to speak to a manager and they never came to talk to my husband or speak to me on the phone. My husband asked if they could locate another one for us and they refused. We asked for a refund but I am completely heart broken, it was the perfect piece. I called the Panama City store and the manager I spoke with seemed appalled by the actions of this store, Barbara volunteered to call other local stores to assist me in finding this console. Barbara is an amazing associate and I believe a great asset to this panama city TJ Maxx. I don't usually do reviews, but Barbara's outstanding customer service makes me want to share this experience. Thank...
