Chop’t is by far, favorite salad spot so when I saw that they opening at Bergen Town Center, I was pretty excited. I stopped at the soft open of Chop’t at Bergen Town Center today. While we were waiting on line, servers offered us sample of the Mexicali Vegan (👌🏾) and Kale Ceasar salads and the Chicken Tinga bowl. And of course, in true Local Guide fashion, I tried them all. With pieces of sweet potato, the Mexicali Vegan is both tasty and satisfying. I can’t stomach to eat uncooked kale (no matter how much I’ve tried) however, they way they chop, blend and toss this salad with the chicken, parmesan cheese and Cesar dressing, it’s actually really good — not just just tolerable. The Chicken Tinga bowl was really good. Braised chicken tinga, avocado, black beans, cotija cheese and tortilla chips are tossed together to create a bowl that is tasty and hearty. Mmm... :)

I am in the mall everyday and it was so hard to find something that’s healthy fresh and I would love. I walked into chopt not knowing if I will even place an order. It was a great decision I made and with the help of team member Rob I was hooked. The place is clean, friendly and most important it’s fresh and Delicious. I even forgot my keys there due to salad excitement, which were kept safely by rob. The GM is down to earth and so welcoming. I build my own salad and spend an average $12 daily. Never eating anywhere else in the mall. I will also further recommend my customers to grab a bite at the chopt in Bergen town center. You guys deserve it.

I eat at chopt probably 2 to 3 times a week depending on if I meal prepped or not but I must say they help me keep a healthy balance between work and life. But first off let’s talk about how the salad bar is always fresh. The work stations are always clean the staff is so accommodating and nice especially “Alex” I usually ask for several different requests when I’m ordering and I’m always met with great energy and enthusiasm. I’m vegan and I truly appreciate the cleanliness in Chopt , And the variety of plant based options like falafel, chickpeas etc etc. and the lemon tahini A-1 anyways thanks Chopt from Prince.

I usually like ordering a salad from here but today I had such a horrible experience that I might reconsider ordering from here again. A women named Alexa Miller was preparing our food and she dropped a piece of my avocado on the counter. I didn’t think she would place it into my salad, but instead throw it out. Well I was wrong, she not only placed a contaminated avocado into my salad, but also gave me a nasty attitude when I asked her to please take it out. All she had to do was apologize and take it out but she decided to be a nasty employee.

I wish this was the end of this bad experience but this was just the tip of the iceberg. You see she was also making my wife a salad too and gave her the wrong dressing. To fix this mistake she threw out a handful of her salad and was preparing to put it into a container and send us on our way. Right as my wife was about to say “wait you just threw out a handful of my salad” Alexa goes and says aggressively with an extremely nasty tone “I was about to fix it.” She then ran off into the back room. When she came back she said to us, while she was at the cash register, “they don’t want to see me turn up.” So I said excuse me but you made two mistakes and we still didn’t get our salads. Sadly, instead of accepting that she ruined two orders, wasted precious food, and finding a way to make it right she decided to act like she had no work place training. If she just apologized I would have said okay no problem and moved on.

However, that is far from how this story ends. She lost her mind, she started winding her arms up like she was going to fight us, and continued to shout. We were very concerned and everyone that was there was actually scared as they watched this employee get violent. She was saying the following things while her manager was trying to hold her from leaning over the register, “I have all day”, “I don’t care about your salad”, and many other obscene things as well. Ultimately, she ran to the back room again, and yelled “FAGGOT” at me.

I’m really not sure who hired this employee but she clearly doesn’t know how to make a salad, she is disrespectful, rude, and nasty. She has no respect for food, her manager, and most importantly the customers. Alexa Miller does not deserve to represent Chopt, and I recommend that she is fired immediately for threatening customers, creating a hostile work environment, wasting food, and unable to correct her mistakes. If she continues to work here she will ruin many more customers salads, as well as their days. This will ultimately bring the product down and tarnish the reputation that Chopt has worked hard to establish. Let’s correct the error of hiring Alexa Miller by firing her and replacing her with someone more interested in respecting Chopt, and their customers.

Shoutout to the manager who was able to defuse the situation before...

This is by far the dirtiest Chopt I've been to in this country. I am a strict Vegetarian hence I am coming to a salad shop to eat a Vegetarian Salad. First of all, every employee when picking out toppings dips their entire hand in the bin which causes cross contamination off the bat. They will put their hand in the chicken and then put the same hand in the cheese. Is there a problem with using a proper spoon to scoop out the toppings? Then they use the same hand/glove to wipe out the entire counter. Do we not believe in proper napkins/spray to clean the topping counter? This is all i am seeing as I am waiting on line to order my salad. There are bits and pieces of meat in the pepper bin, in the avocado bin, in the tomato bin. I am not paying $15 for a "vegetarian salad with hints of meat all over it" because these employees cannot properly clean and use utensils to add toppings to the salad. this is a SALAD PLACE. SALADS should be VEGETARIAN 100% to a customer if that's what they want to order. For everyone's sake, you are making the salad in front of the customer. Why are these employees and managers so incompetent? I have videos and photos of this exact very situation that i will be sending to Corporate. But in the meantime please, please, please, keep the meat toppings separate from the vegetarian. That's the least you can do at a...

Do not come here! I am warning everyone that is even thinking about getting a salad here that you are getting ripped off paying $15 for a few pieces of lettuce. I ordered a Chicen Cobb Salad which is supposed to come with Chicken and Avocado, and there is no chicken and no identifiable piece of avocado I can find in the bowl. I generally don't complain about something like this, but how can you charge $15 for something that is supposed to be someone's meal? I went back to the store to understand what's going on, and they denied everything. I said forget it, I don't care who's right or wrong. Just don't come here. The worse was their excuse saying that every Chopt in the world is the same and that they measure every ingredient. Remember they said that, they measure every single ingredient before giving you the salad.

The Chopt in NYC is probably 3 times the size of what this place gives you. You can eat 3 of these salads and still be hungry because all they give you is a few pieces of lettuce and some dressing to cover it all up. Don't come here!!! They even stuffed the piece of bread into my salad bowl which filled half the bowl. For those that never went to Chopt in NYC, I'm warning you this Paramus NJ location doesn't seem to have hired the right staff or something. When they say Chipotle skimped, this...
