While I appreciate that my meal was comped, I would have been happier to have shared a good meal with my husband as the start of our weekend getaway. I ordered the farm skillet and asked them to sub Gruyère cheese for the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese which they did not. My husband asked for his eggs scrambled well and they brought him over easy eggs and no toast which he had asked for. They took that plate away and returned with a plate with watery scrambled eggs and they said they would bring him another plate of eggs so he could start eating the rest of his meal. He did not enjoy the Belgian waffle which he said it tasted like cinnamon which he did not care for, said the butter on his toast tasted bitter and the bacon was overcooked. The waitress brought the check before his eggs came out so she said she would check on it. She came back and said the order had not been put in for my husband and she put them in. When they finally came out they were runny again and at that point we were done. We were there for an hour and a half total most of which my husband sat and watched me eat. A series of unfortunate events and sadly my husband and I did not enjoy a nice breakfast together to begin our weekend getaway as...
Read moreI’ve been to many other First Watch locations. I was so excited when I found out that they would open a location closer to me. However, this location is likely to taint the FW brand. The space is half the size of their other locations, which is odd since it’s meant to serve a densely populated area. The restaurant was loud, like an echo chamber that made it imposible to talk using a normal volume. The decor was also starkly minimal and boring from other locations. The food was outright bland and not to usual standards. The floor was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, the syrup container was dirty, and we were sat right next to the opening of the kitchen and guess what—the kitchen was dirty! They need to get this location in shape or it won’t survive in this area. There are a lot of great, clean, and efficient food options in the area, and they won’t be able to compete. They should not have cheaped out for this location and should have scaled up. Since they did just open, I’ll try them out again in a few months. But it’s not a good sign that they’re performing at this level right...
Read moreI’m am so exited First Watch is now close to me! I’ve loved going to First Watch when I visit my bestie in Ohio and now it’s closer to me - yay! It’s located in the Bergen Town Center towards the back by Homegoods & Kohl’s - they also have their own lot right in front.
I had the honor of visiting during the family & friends event and everything was absolutely delicious. I tried my son’s farmer’s skillet hash (5/5) and I ordered the trifecta with a banana granola almond pancake, chicken apple sausage and over easy eggs (5/5), also tried the millions dollar potatoes(5/5) and wow! They are so tasty! For beverages I had a cold brew (5/5) perfectly made not bitter, just smooth one of the best cold brews I’ve had! The kale tonic (5/5) was also delicious - It’s really refreshing and light, I love that its sweetness is naturally from lemons & Fuji apples.
Service by Adrian (I hope that’s right) was great! He was very attentive, welcoming and friendly.
Ambience was chill, cute casual breakfast, brunch, lunch spot - I’m looking forward to coming again!! Thank you...
