TLDR; I was in a two month battle with Google over a phone that they damaged during repairs. Loren and Desmond from UBIF evaluated my device and helped me get my replacement device from Google at no cost. They are the most amazing people at UBIF and we need more great technicians that truly care about their community. Thank you so much! If you have any issues with any device, this is the place to go to. Look no further.
Jeeze, where to start? I began having issues with my Pixel 4 XL and was informed by Google that I was outside of the warranty but still inside of a extended battery warranty program and that I should send the phone in for repairs. I did that, and was dumbstruck to hear that I had to pay $150 because my phones screen was cracked , which it wasn't. I was then informed that I should take it to UBIF since they are partnered with Google for repairs. I did just that, and Loren, the store manager, told me that the device was listed as OOW and there wasn't much he could do with opening up a claim but that he could have my battery replaced for X amount of dollars. I never asked the price, because I was more than capable and confident enough to change the battery myself. I purchased a new battery for my phone and was astonished to find out that not only my screen was NOT cracked, the battery itself and connector on my motherboard was completely damaged and irreparable. I contacted Google Support and was given the run around for almost a month. During this time, they asked me to take the device back to UBIF. Loren and Desmond (Asst Store Manager) evaluated the device, at no charge, and confirmed that the screen was in good shape, the battery connector was in fact damaged, and so was the motherboard on the phone. They acted as the 3rd party in my battle with Google and were on my defense over and over again during this back and forth period. FINALLY, after 2 1/2 months of dealing with Google, a higher representative from Google approved my replacement, and I honestly feel that if it wasn't for Loren and Desmond stepping in and being assertive with their evaluation, that I would still be going back and forth with Google to this day. They didn't have to be on my side, help me out, or anything but they still went out of their way to ensure I was being properly taken care of and not stepping all over them. I couldn't tip them, but I did buy them lunch and expressed my immense gratitude. If you have any issues with any device, this is the place to go to....
Read moreI wouldn't recommend this store to ANYBODY!! Why: I took my Xbox 360 in to get repaired because my disk tray would no longer open so I wasn't able to play any of my games. When i first talked to the guy at the counter he said it wouldn't be a problem. He said if he needed to realign the disk tray it would be free, but if he had to replace the whole assembly it would cost around $120. I told him it was fine and he said it should be ready in about 48 hours and they would give me a call if there was going to be a charge. I dropped off my system on Wednesday and and by Friday i hadn't received a call with any information. I decided to go up to the store on Saturday and the next guy told me it wasn't ready and that they would update me on Sunday. I didn't get a call until Monday afternoon saying they are going to have to replace the the entire drive. I again said it was fine and i had asked when it would be done. The guy on the phone said it should be done on Tuesday by the end of the day. I go to the store Wednesday morning and they tell me my system isn't ready and they still needed to order the part. At this point i was done waiting and asked to simply take my system back. The guy at the counter said the system was unassembled and they needed time to put it together. The cashier first said it would take "30 mins-1 hour" to be ready. So i asked "So it'll be ready in 1 hour?" Cashier:"Well.... 1 hour to 1 hour and a half." Me: "So is it 1 hour or an hour and a half?" Cashier:"Maybe an hour and a half" At this point I was completely done with waiting and had to ask for my system back...
Read moreI took my phone in because it wouldn't charge or hold charge and they ordered a new battery for it without testing it to see if it might be the charge port also. They said 3-5 days for the parts to be in. After about 7 days I called them to check up on it and they acted like it was weird that I'd call saying they'll call when it's ready. Then they called a day later asking if they charge port was broken. You're the experts you couldn't even try plugging it in when you first got it?! So they ordered the new charge port parts and said 3-5 days. They did give me a discount so I didn't say anything. They called after 5 days and I picked it up just happy to finally have it back. Only 2 days later I was laying in bed looking at stuff on my phone and the screen went static and then black. Took it back to them the next day because they said if anything went wrong they'd fix it for free. Then told me since they didn't work with the screen that I had to pay $130 for the new parts and only offered a %15 discount. My phone is the type where you have to unscrew the back, it doesn't just pop off like a normal phone. So I find it to be a pretty big coincidence that they'd just taken the phone apart 2 days ago but it's not at all their fault something else is wrong with it. I feel like they are just trying to get money out of me and over $200 in repairs is not worth it. I'm just going to buy a new phone. I wouldn't take your phone to these people for any big repairs that involve taking your...
