I grew up in the church here in Atlanta as an English speaking only caucasian, born in the suburbs. Last Sunday I was invited by a friend born in South Korea to worship at New Church of Atlanta. I didn’t know what to expect, but an amazing, beautiful experience I had! I was welcomed with open arms and treated as family. Pastor Neal, introduced himself and offered to translate for me. He provided a headset and translated the entire sermon for me. As I looked around I realized he was translating for me only! I just can’t say enough about the lovely experience I had.
