I've only just started shopping at Aldi in the past 6 months. I had always thought they were membership only type of store, but they're not. Aldi has a large assortment of items, be it name brands or their own. The items are fairly priced and many below other market prices. Aldi is especially good for a single person grocery shopping or a family on a budget. They have frozen bag dinners in Italian, Asian, etc, that serve two and larger ones for families. They're actually quite good. They sell steaks that are individually cryovac'd so you can cook one now, freeze the other for later. Or you can buy individual types of steak. Plus, they have brisket, spareribs, sausages, hot dogs, chicken, hamburgers, and lamb if you're having a party or BBQ. Aldi has a nice assortment of fresh vegetables and salads. The bakery section has a good variety, too. Muffins, breads, rolls, pastries, etc. They even have Tastykakes, Little Debbie, and Hostess. The cookie and anack section has real Nabisco Oreos, Keebler cookies, and their own assortment. Pepperidge Farm goldfish. Their cheese section has a really nice variety. Plus, they have pre-made appetizers like a salumi tray with mixed cheeses. A nice assortment of puddings, yogurts, cheesecakes, and flan. Aldi also has a nice variety of take-home heat and eat pizzas. These range from personal, flat bread or large pizzas. My go-to is a pepperoni with not only pepperoni slices but small chunks scattered around. Along with the shredded cheese, there are small fresh mozzarella balls on the pizza, too. They cook up quickly in your oven, toaster oven, or air fryer. Their stock changes quickly. So, if you see they have their pork/chicken Schnizels, you may want to grab more than one. Sadly, I didn't the first time I found the pork schnitzel. They cook up so beautifully crisp on the outside and very tender on the inside. I later found that these are a customer favorite that are seasonal and sell out very quickly. Aldi also sells children's toys, bathroom and kitchen items. I even saw air conditioners on one of my last visits. They sold out really quick. Aldi's carts require a quarter to unlock. Most shoppers who are finished are generous and will give you their empty cart. So, just in case, have a quarter handy. Take a trip of your own to your local Aldi. I think you'll be quite surprised at how much they have and the...

Rating: âď¸
As a consumer seeking quality products and satisfactory service, my recent experience at ALDI left much to be desired. From the moment I entered the store to the checkout process, numerous issues arose, ultimately leading to a sense of frustration and disappointment.
First and foremost, the cleanliness of the store was severely lacking. Upon entering, I immediately noticed cluttered aisles, unkempt shelves, and an overall lack of organization. Products were haphazardly strewn about, making it difficult to navigate and locate items. The overall atmosphere felt chaotic and uninviting, leaving me with a negative first impression.
Furthermore, the quality of the products offered at ALDI did not meet my expectations. While the store boasts low prices, it became evident that these savings often come at the expense of product quality. Many items appeared to be of inferior quality, with packaging that was damaged or past its expiration date. Fresh produce, in particular, looked wilted and past its prime, further adding to my disappointment.
The checkout process only served to compound my frustrations. Despite the advertised efficiency of ALDI's self-checkout system, I encountered numerous issues that resulted in lengthy delays. From malfunctioning scanners to error messages prompting the assistance of a staff member, the process was far from seamless. This lack of efficiency only added to my growing dissatisfaction with the overall experience.
In addition to these operational issues, I found the customer service at ALDI to be lacking. Staff members appeared disinterested and indifferent to the concerns of customers, providing little assistance or guidance when needed. This lack of attentiveness further detracted from the overall shopping experience and left me feeling undervalued as a customer.
In conclusion, my experience at ALDI fell far short of expectations. From the poor cleanliness and product quality to the inefficient checkout process and lackluster customer service, every aspect of my visit left much to be desired. As a result, I cannot in good conscience recommend ALDI to others and will be seeking alternative options for my grocery needs...
Read moreGood quality food at excellent prices. Plus, constantly changing, very good, sales on homewares, tools, and appliances. Sales begin on Sunday, and the best items go fast. I've gotten tools made in Germany for less than half of what other places charged for made in China stuff. Unique items like their tube and fabric greenhouses are especially attractive purchases that work very well. Aldi has provided dependable staples, such as a dozen large eggs, organic milk, good bread, prewashed salad, cold cuts and cheeses at a third less than many supermarkets. Their 16 inch pizzas are an especially good buy at $5 to $6 every day. For holidays they have very good prices on goodies imported from Europe! However, I still rely on Shoprite, for staples, like LandOLakes butter. Shoprite is also more dependable for better quality produce. Aldi often has really excellent prices on bird seed and Suet, but you have to watch for when it arrives. Sometimes it sells out quickly. But, if it lingers, the clearance sale prices can be outstanding! Most pet food items are good quality, BUT, UNFORTUNATELY, the quality of some items has deteriorated since Aldi entered the American market! They used to have a high quality house brand canned dog food, but have abandoned it for an inferior Pedigree brand. My guess is that this is a result of American consumers who don't read the ingredients labels and blindly purchase based on brand name. If I had to choose between having an Aldi or a Shoprite to buy at, I would choose the Shoprite! But, fortunately, I don't have to choose, and having both gives us the best of both worlds. (And stores like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Wegmans, in the Philly area, along with food co-ops, etc. provide us enviable options.) Definitely include Aldi in your list of good places to shop. Just be sure to...
