Ocean Crab - City Ave — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I've been to other Ocean Crab locations, but this was our first time at Ocean Crab City Ave. We went late in the afternoon and around the holiday, so it was crazy trying to get parking, but once you're inside it's a chill atmosphere. Luckily there weren't many people in there and we were seated right away.

We got the shrimp basket and scallop basket, both with sweet potato fries....a order of garlic bread(2 pieces), a side of corn on the cob(3 pieces) and a 1/2 lb side of sausages. Also an order of snow crab legs with headless shrimp. I did ask for it to be mild with the Ocean Special (which is Cajun, butter garlic and lemon pepper) but I didn't taste much of that. Since I got the medium level of heat before and that made my eyes water, so I thought the mild would be better and still have some flavor/kick to it, but it didn't. And for dessert was a key lime pie and cheesecake. The key lime was good and the cheesecake was good, but very small....like they cut the slice in half.

Overall, the food was good and out waiter was nice...

I ordered 1 doz and a half shimp.. When I picked my order up and opened it at home,there was only 1 dozen. I called back and spoke to the manager, who acknowledged the mistake. He offered to make up the difference on my next visit and I told him I was coming back for the shrimp. When I got there, he started explaining what happened and told me he threw in some extra shimp for the inconvenience. He also said "See you next time" when I got home there were only the 6 missing shrimp. I felt very disrespected because he lied and saying see you next time made me think that he really didn't respect my money or spending power. It also had the undertone that black folk will accept anything and still patronize a business that dosent respect our spending power since I am black. I'm sorry but that will be my last visit there. I have been here several times, and have had a great experience every time... except today. After waiting for 20 minutes at the table, and having no waitress wait on me, I approached the hostess and asked when we would be receiving service. Immediately following that, our food and drink order was taken, that was the first time we seen our waitress that night. Our waitress then returned with our drinks, this being the second time we had seen her, the third time we had seen her was after being brought our meals.... we didn't receive any beverage refills, nor did she check in on us at any point of time. I was so thirsty that I ate my ice AND the lemon... NO EXAGGERATION. When you go out for dinner, you aren't only going for the food, but the experience as well. Later after I payed my bill, my waitress who I had only seen 4 times the entire night, began arguing with why I did not leave a tip...
