Had a terrible experience at this Library back in 2012 Rich the manger is pompous full of himself and a bully Be very Careful sharing any personable information with this overweight creep ! Actually sat at his desk shaking his finger at me and telling me to go to church Made homophobic jokes at my expense I was vulnerable as I just got laid off and my mom went into a nursing home 2 months after I got laid off My beloved cat had just died also I looked to him for help because he also works for PAWS It was a big mistake sharing personable information with him and thinking he would help me Instead he Mocked me and told me and I quote Your not getting ( Chase } the cat I had found on the paws site I was stunned. I've been visiting the Katharine Drexel Library for many years now alone or with members of my family and have found it to be an important and valuable resource. We've used it to find books, use a computer, and attend programs. The staff there have always been respectful and will spend time helping you. Rich the librarian, has always gone out of his way to help me and my family. Neither he or any other library staff there have never done anything except make us feel welcomed and glad we visited. They are good people serving the neighborhood and doing a darn good job too. They don't deserve to be insulted or be targeted as they are not the cause of anyone's...

I’ve enjoyed going to this library for years and even with city cutbacks, KD library was dependable. This has changed. I requested a book and was notified that it now available and being held. I have made multiple attempts to get the book, but the doors are closed, even during the hours indicated as open. Today, the bars are pulled back, lights on but the doors locked.
