When thinking of my experience, the first word that comes to mind is "gross". Pretty much everything is so dirty, I can't imagine a health inspector walking in here and leaving without shutting the place down.

The floors are sticky, with disturbing sea bug shells just lying around, the tables are sticky, and the seats just catch whatever they wipe off the tables.

When I was seated, I saw a streak of oil going across the entire bench that ended with a small chunk of gray fish or snail, or who knows what. The waitress sees me look at the seat, then look at my friends, then I watch her look straight at the seat, then back at her pad before asking what we want to drink and leaving. Doesn't apologize, doesn't offer to clean it, and doesn't offer to move us.

Then there's the plates. This is where you get to play a "fun" game called, "find the clean plate"! Frankly, I think if you don't always win on the first try, the place doesn't deserve customers. But sometimes you can get through 10+ wet plates with old food stuck to them before finding one.

So, I managed to find a plate that "looks" clean, and I'm ready to get food. A lot of the stuff doesn't have labels, and some of the stuff with labels is just wrong. None of the sushi has labels. I like to avoid sea bugs, but imagine if you have allergies. How can someone care so little for their business they can't be bothered to get a food label right. It's depressing.

Then there's the quality of the food itself. I'm not a high maintenance, high class sort of person. It's food cooked in huge quantities and thrown on a steam table all day. I'm not expecting to see any chef awards on the wall, but it's just disappointment after disappointment.

I already struggle getting someone to properly prepare a single meal and get it to my table without an issue, but now I'm going to watch 100 strangers all go up and handle the stuff I want to eat before I get to put it on my plate. And let's be honest, a lot of people aren't kind, considerate, respectful people, so who knows if we get the @##hole today that thinks it's funny to do gross things, but...

Let's hope we didn't today. It can still be hard to tell if that burnt piece of fried rice isn't the head of a roach, or if the little bits of white stuff are egg whites, or with no malicious intent, someone's hair hasn't drifted into a tray, but...

Again... let's hope that's not what happened today. The food just isn't very good. I've lost count of how many times I've had General Tso's, and I've lost count of how many places I've had it. So, I can confidently say this is not how General Tso's should be. Just awful.

The vast majority of the food seems to be bland or salty. The texture and the flavoring is just off on pretty much everything. I think very little care is given to how well these things turn out or what can be done to make them better.

I can compare these dishes to just about any Chinese takeout place in the area and say without hesitation, Grand China Buffet is worse. And in those comparisons, this buffet also doesn't seem like a good value.

A Chinese takeout place will usually give you a pretty large portion for a pretty decent price, so I don't see how the vast majority of people would ever come close to eating $25 worth of food here... especially after trying the food here.

The only thing Grand about the Grand China Buffet is the sheer quantity of food on display. When it comes to cleanliness, quality, and value, this place is unimpressive and inferior.

I recommend you avoid the no doubt HIGH risk of illness caused by the food or lack of cleanliness, and spend that $28/person on higher quality of food instead of the higher variety of...

Hello there,

I decided to leave feedback about the personnel. Overall, the place is not that bad. However, the Northeast area does not have much to offer and to compare with. The only place where you can have plenty of choices on different meals. The price is also good for these choices. The location is good, especially for those who likes shopping (Philadelphia Mills). After hardships of shopping one needs to eat well where the Grand China comes as an option.

The building itself is very spacious and no problem with finding seats even for a few people.

The setting is also good with dim lights where good eaters don't like to be showed off)).

The place needs good AC/Ventilation cause of lots of variety of foods leave some scents.

The food is especially good during rush hours as the flow of people makes them to bring foods as fresh as possible.

The personnel, oh my gosh, I will do my best to put it without an emotion. We started to come to this place comparatively not long time ago. However, we attend this at least once a month. First time, we came with a family and had very good impression till the time I paid the bill. When we finished our meal the waitress brought the bill and logically I put my credit card and the tips in the amount of $5 as the bill's total was $37 for me, my wife and 6 months old child. At the moment, the waitress showed dissatisfaction with the tips paid. I wondered and asked what happened. She just mumbled something in Chinese and left. I asked the administration about the attitude of the waitress. The manager apologized and said that everything is ok. As far as I understand, it was the amount of tip that frustrated the waitress. I asked myself, I paid the tips according to the bill and should I have to pay for things that I brought to me and my family from the buffet myself? Should I pay for cleaning up the table and bringing the soft drinks? If $5 dollars is not a money for the service that I almost everything done to myself then I decided not to pay.

I had an embarrassing situation with the waitress again. I was paying the bill and waitress came over to the cashiers place and showed the tips paid place on the receipt. I said that I am not gonna pay the tips politely. She said something to her manager in chinese and both laughed. I asked immediately is tips paying mandatory? The manager replied that it is not. I said why then you guys laugh about my will not to pay tips. They both said it is okay. I asked to call the administration and that man said that he is the manager. I explained everything that happened previously to me with their employee. Still don't like this situation and have huge doubt that this situation will stop...

This is the worst place to go to especially if you're overweight they watch you eat they bring your bill over to you before you're done eating. Because you are overweight they will bring you 2 cups of soda at a time even though you didn't ask for them one With ice and one without. They are very ignorant and rude to you. They have a problem with getting refills of sodas. And if you like to drink different kinds of soda or switch your soda they have a problem with it the waitresses are very lazy here. The last time we came here my brother hit a couple 100 on the slot machine And it did not print out the slip because it was out of paper so they were trying not to pay him. I went this time after that and they told me I'm always a problem here they never had a problem with me these people are just rude and ignorant they think because you are overweight that you eat a lot. I am a white female I do not eat a lot there were other people that were skinnier than me eating way more than me. There was also people that got full plates of shrimps and crabs and everything else. Me I get 2 plates I might not even fill them up all the way Just a little of this and a little of that I don't like my food to touch But they act like I'm going to eat them out of house and home. They make sure they rush the fat people out of there. And they discriminate against Overweight people. Not only that but every time I go here I do get the diarrhea. I'd rather go to a buffet in Jersey the Chinese people treat you a whole lot better. Or even the new one that opened up by cottman avenue and bustleton ave., is a lot better than this 1. I will never go here again and I think I should call license and inspections because the water in the bathroom is hardly on for you to wash your hands the bathrooms were very dirty and some of them were out of order in the ladies room. There's always dirty plates up there I don't think this place is so clean. Definitely do not recommend this place unless you are trying to get sick.Read all the Reviews 👎👎and 🪳🪳🪳🪳is on one of them FOOD POISON ALSO!!😡😡😡🤮🤮🤮🤧🤧🤧🤒🤒.Please call 311 and report them to Health Department 🏬 and License and Inspections for food safety and Better...

Went for dinner. We were greeted and seated right away. Drink orders were taken. Everyone that works there was very kind. The food looked really good in the reviews and in person. There are many options, and they were putting out new trays as we walked around to see what was offered before making any selections. After officially making choices from a few meats and starches, we returned to the table, but the food was cold. All the flavor was wonderful. My sweet potato, which was the first thing to hit my plate, was the hottest item I had the whole night-even the hot tea was not holding the temperature. That was the biggest disappointment for us. A plate full of cold meat was off-putting. For the dessert, I tried the honey dew and some oranges, with some elephant ear cookies and the egg tart. The oranges were the most fresh of the four items. The egg tart was overcooked. I would usually have two main plates and a dessert plate, but when the food isn't to temperature, I cannot eat more. There is a sign that says to not be wasteful, although some people don't mind the sign. I gave low atmosphere because the lady behind me and her kid kept hitting my chair while she was sitting in it and every time they got up to get more food. They never pulled their chair in. When everyone from their table was gone, I pushed their chair in. There is plenty of space around the tables, they were just rude people. We would try it again, maybe at lunch. The price was reasonable.

This was my first time visiting the Grand China Buffet. I went on a Monday, which was a holiday (MLK Day). My first impression walking in is that it is definitely "Grand." I haven't seen a Chinese buffet this big since The Habatchi Supreme Grill on Cottman Ave ( which I miss). As soon as I passed the first two sets of doors, I was greeted with a hello . The greeter led us to our table. I couldn't help but notice there was a small fountain with Koi fish on the left side of the restaurant, and also they were selling some jewelry, bags, hats, nicnaks, blow-up toys, and collectable items. The waiter took our drink orders, and then we went to get our food. The Buffet had plenty to choice from. The food was warm and tasty. I was kind of disappointed with the dessert selection. No cakes, banana pudding, or cookies. Just different kinds of jello, fruit, and brownies. We went a little further in the back, and we saw a big chocolate fountain with freezers. One with about 6 different flavors of ice cream and the other with about 6 different flavors of water ice. They didn't have much fruit to choose from to put in the fountain. Just pineapple and cantaloupe with one piece of banana left. I was disappointed that the chocolate was nasty. Diffently wasn't Hershey. When we left, I had to stop back at the front, where they were selling some items. My son ended up getting me a led lamp candle holder that caught my eye. Overall, I enjoyed my first visit and will be back.
