McPherson Square Library — Attraction in Philadelphia

Have an amazing program for children, the staff that runs the children clubs are very friendly, let's me know my children are safe, but the staff especially the lady at front desk who is the 1st one you see coming in, is extremely rude, children in the computer side are very loud, impossible to work in the PC with all that noise, too much cursing going on with the children at the computer section, not the children downstairs, but the ones who don't attend the children program stay on the PC, and are extremely loud, most of the staff in cells phone very loud, security is most of the time in cell phone texting, not realizing that ppl are using their cell phone in the Library and are having very loud conversation, it seems like the staff is bother if you ask for assistance, they no help at all, only very helpful ones are the staff from the children clubs they have. but the outside area is another story, but I really love the children...

Very nice Library, always something going on for the children, I wish Frankford Library had something going on for the children more than Once every two months, but at this Library the Lady with glasses at front desk, extremely rude, needs to work on her people skills,and makes u feel very unwelcome and makes quietly rude comments with coworkers about others people there. Needs to learn how to greet new faces and how to answer people questions with out her attitude, is very, very loud to be a Library, even though the children do the activities downstairs the computer is very loud upstairs, staff children do what they want in the computer section n are very loud, almost impossible to work, unsafe in the outside area, because of the neddles and zombies around, my girls enjoy their children programs they have everyday, is an Amazing program...

Excellent library. Went to visit a cousin in Philadelphia, and he took me on a tour of his work environment (he’s a substance abuse counselor and social worker). It’s sad how so many people fall in between the cracks in our society and nearly nowhere is that more evident than in this neighborhood and specifically in this exact location.

However, with that being said - McPherson Square is a beautiful park and the Library is a sight to behold. Inside, the staff were really helpful and they have a great selection. It’s clean, and despite struggles happening right outside on the lawn, a great resource for the community. If you live nearby, absolutely go check it out.
