Now let’s talk about the RNB FEST show… As soon as I entered the venue, I knew that I’d be having a Great Night! The energy just felt right! Everything was clean and the weather was perfect! The show started with an artist from Philly, named Lay Bankz. I’ll admit that I didn’t know who she was, but after seeing her perform I’m now a fan. She has stage presence, she raps, dances, sings and keeps the crowd’s attention! Her lyrics are witty and she has great energy. And her mic was definitely on! Next up was Jeremih! I was pleased with his performance. His show was entertaining, the crowd sang along to his songs, his dancers got involved which was good for the guys in the crowd. Jeremih’s hype man helped turn the show up and integrated the EAGLES song into the show, which I thought was a great way to show love for the City of Philly and the Philadelphia Eagles 🦅 . Jeremih played the piano a little, I just wish he would’ve taken off his sunglasses for awhile. His mic was on all night, he sounds just like the record. And then came Trey Songz! This is where the show went crazy! Let me start by saying, how sexy and handsome Trey is close up. I sat in the front where all the action was and it got CRAZY! Trey is so entertaining and SEXY! However, there were people from different sections running down to the front disrupting the show. They were so intoxicated, rambunctious and determined to get Treys attention. The security team stood by and did absolutely nothing! They weren’t encouraged to go back to their seats and they stood in front of the people who paid to sit there. I returned my focus to Trey, who made all of the disorderly distractions disappear! That man’s body, face and voice is so mesmerizing! His mic was definitely ON! Trey interacts with the crowd and allowed some ladies to come on stage and dance with him…. Then there was that one who felt entitled to join him, who jumped on stage and was quickly intercepted by SECURITY! Maybe he was a former Eagles football player. Lol Thank goodness Trey wasn’t hurt! We definitely have to get security officers who can actively secure the stage and prevent those things from happening. And at least ensure that individuals that don’t belong in that area, aren’t allowed there! Instead of being overly relaxed (the male staff) or mean mugging the females in the crowd (the female staff). They all saw the trouble makers and ignored them. This could’ve easily caused a fight to break out, as spaces were being invaded! What is security for? We pay to see a show, not to have entitled drunk fans, disrupt the show in an effort to get the artist attention! All of that aside, the man knows how to serenade and please the ladies. At one point he even asked for the lights to be turned off. The lighting was excellent, but he clearly knows how to “Set the Mood”! I felt like I was falling in Love. Lol If he still needs a girl (Woman) I’m definitely available. I wish the Dell Music Center would have more of the RnB Fest! I’ve been coming to the Dell Music Center since 2013 and I will say THIS WAS THE BEST SHOW I’ve seen in a while. The sound was crystal clear, the performers PERFORMED and a Great Time was Had… and...
Read moreFirst time coming to this venue and I was impressed by a few things... wide/ comfortable seats, a good view from where we were (section W row F), the courteous staff and the lights/sound were superb. I will definitely keep this venue in mind for future shows. I will say I was thankful they let us wait out the rain for Isley Brothers in our cars. It seemed to me the show may have been shortened because of the hour long delay BUT I would rather see a fabulous show that was shortened versus needing to come back a later day, pay twice the amount of tolls and gas (if I was even available for the rescheduled date).
*I've read some othere reviews and the complaints of some other people are valid while other are out of the control of the venue, rain dates/handling things differently in summer heat waves for who gets let in first or being rained on as tickets are always rain or shine events, sound level/clarity is not under the Dell's control. Keep that in mind when deciding to come. Long lines are often unavoidable. Food and drinks are usually expensive at these concerts. Tailgaters are a headache if they are taking up prime spots but to stop them before they get parked slows down already long...
Read moreThe concert was supposed to be rain or shine start at 7 and doors open at 5:30 September 9. I was hyped to hear Gregory Porter, Leela James and I purchased 4 tickets. It was also my sister's birthday and we were ready to have a great time rain or shine! It rained. We arrived by 6. While on line at Dell Music Center was turning people away stating they will have to wait until 7 because of the threat of lightning. If that wasn't bad enough, while on line a woman had a stroke! I called 911, strangers were trying to help her while we waited for the ambulance. The police finally arrived and they were absolutely no help! Someone ran to the Dell since they had medics on site. The medics said there's nothing they could do because we weren't inside the stadium...even though we were on the grounds of the stadium. Well 7:00 came and went and the Dell made those that were inside the stadium leave and said doors will open at 8:00. By 7:50 no one said for sure the concert was going to proceed and we left. $434.50 down the drain! Eventually the ambulance came and took the elderly woman. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THE DELL...
