Of all of the historic homes, or mansions, in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, I love the exterior of Laurel Hill Mansion the most. Not as large as some of the other homes, the mansion still impresses you with its detail and bright exterior. The interior stuns you with its well-preserved colonial/federalist design and furniture, and the staff always brings a smile and deep knowledge with them. Definitely check this place out when its open and even just walking by and learning about the home and its history and seeing the exterior makes popping by worth it if you happen to be in the area. Great place too, to park by and walk some of the famous Boxer's Trail that passes right by.

Good to know the history of this place relate to Dr. Physick Sully and the women for Greater Philadelpia. Well maintain and preserve and locate at the beautiful Fairmount. from the season of Spring to Fall. It has lots of trail roots and good to be outside for refreshment.

Laurel Hill Mansion is a historic gem nestled in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. Built in 1767, it is one of the park’s treasured historic houses, open to the public and available for events. The mansion boasts a Georgian architectural style with a unique two-story octagonal wing added after its initial construction. Inside, visitors can find period furniture, including an 18th-century Philadelphia Chippendale mahogany highboy, and portraits of former occupants that bring the late 18th century to life. The mansion overlooks the scenic Schuylkill River from a high bluff, offering visitors a breathtaking view. Managed by Women for Greater Philadelphia, the mansion hosts various public events from April to December, including a Spring Tea and Summer Concerts. Laurel Hill’s rich history and its role in Philadelphia’s cultural narrative make it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and those seeking a picturesque...

We came here for the Cider fest in October, which included a tour of all the mansions in the area. I really enjoyed all of them and the tours each house offered. They were all unique and had really fascinating bits of furniture and history. It would be a good place to come if visiting for a few days because you get a really good bit of old Philidelphia history as well as a good view and experience in the parks, which are some of the largest in the nation. There's a bus that goes around the park to each home so getting around to all of them is...
