placed an application to rent a $1700 1 bed 1 bathroom unit at Haverford apartment. I make approximately $86k/yr. I returned their phone call and the person did not seem to know who I was and why I was reaching out despite me given them my name and saying I had applied and was returning their call left on my voicemail. They looked me up and proceeded to question whether I make enough to afford their apartment based off my take home being around $4k/month after taxes/deductions. Despite fact that I make close to $7k a month gross pay which is legal guidelines. My credit score is about 740 and I have never missed rent in my history of renting anywhere including my current apartment where I’ve been paying $2500-$2700 a month at 322 North Broad with no issues and a better quality. I feel this individual agent was acting off of racial bias because there is no logical reason to deny my application as a salaried operations manager when you literally lease to college age students who definitely do not make as much as me. Will file a formal legal complaint against them and their prejudicial practice. The agent name is Adam Rocco with Redblock Realty. Will never do business with this person or company if that’s what they represent. Excellent credit and full time salaried manager. Thank you for saving me from living at a place like that. Goes to show you can’t trust every review and have to have your own experience despite others being treated to more respectful...
Read moreI lived here in my first year as a UPenn graduate student. Being an international student, I booked and paid for the apartment without ever setting foot inside it. Typically, that is a major risk; however, I am glad to have done that with RedBlock and Adam Rocco in specific.
The apartment was clean and ready upon arrival, and I managed to settle very quickly. It was larger than the images on the website gave it credit for—something I am very happy about. Of importance is that the kitchen appliances are very good and reliable, as well as the heating and washing machine.
The building is great and secure. I did not have any trouble with packages being stolen or misplaced. It appears they have an agreement with most shippers, and packages are left within the mail room.
In terms of maintenance, I had no issues that were particularly noteworthy. They were quick to respond to the few that I had, and both the management and maintenance staff were prompt and quick to fix most, if not all, issues. They never let me down. A particular shoutout to Gene and Adam for being consistently within reach and easy to communicate with.
I am moving out because I will be traveling for the majority of next year and as such will not need a long-term residence in the US. However, when I come back, I will most definitely rent with RedBlock again. Wholeheartedly...
Read moreI was searching for a one bedroom apartment and I am SO happy that I found this building because it has been the perfect fit for me!
I am a Drexel student and this building is in a convenient location. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to campus. Public transportation is easily accessible from this location as well (MFL 40th Street Station is ~5 minute walk). It is close enough to Penn's campus that you can take advantage of the restaurants, shops, and Acme that are on campus.
I love my apartment. The apartment is modern and spacious. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a large fridge, granite counters, and a deep sink. There is a surprising amount of counter space if you are like me and have extra appliances (I have a toaster oven, a blender, and a Keurig and my counters don't look cluttered). The kitchen also has a cute bar paired with a cool light fixture.
Another major benefit of the one bedroom apartments is they include a washer and a dryer. The bedroom can comfortably fit a full sized bed. There is plenty of natural light in the living room. Every neighbor I have encountered has been friendly (college students and young professionals) and I have 0 noise complaints for any of the other tenants.
Overall an excellent place for students. Safe and convenient location, quiet, and...
