I am a current resident and will be moving out soon. Iâm extremely disgusted with how they have treated me and my kids here. THEY ARE NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY AND HAVE DISCRIMINATED MY FAMILY!! I have been living here since 2020 when COVID first started. I was excited to finally have my first place in Midtown/Central. I had never had a noise complaint until (2023) later when I had my twins and were learning how to walk. They let the first residents transfer, but the second resident below us complained as well, even though this is every day living and had wanted to âoffer us the same option to transferâwhen in reality they just wanted to find a quick solution for another noise complaint. They tried to say itâs a lot of steps but wouldnât admit it was my kids even though they know we were walking the kids in the hallway in the club deck in the game room literally everywhere except their home. When I told them I was not comfortable transferring and liked my apartment they made it feel forced. Valerie Lamar is the community director there and she actually told me if I donât resolve this myself that she will not be able to renew my lease. When I had escalated this matter to the area director, he profusely apologize for her saying that is not correct at all. He kindly offered again to transfer. After being tormented with multiple complaints, not being able to live in our own apt with our kids to walk around we decided to transfer. They told us we could move anywhere except above someone or on the first floor to make things easier for us. We were shown an apt that was way more expensive. We agreed as we felt our hands were tied. And then guess what?! The neighbors above us were making so much noise and were constantly fighting! There was multiple times I heard a girl screaming and had reported to the police this domestic violence incident. This experience has turned into a nightmare here. Valerie Lamar was definitely giving me information that she was not supposed to and I also want to add. She has a big mouth for gossiping. Resident in apartment 444 just know she was talking crap about you to me. When I had filed a complaint about the neighbors upstairs and on Valerie Lamar not updating me on whatâs going to happen. I found out from the area director, Maria that she was not supposed to be giving me that information. When I had followed up with Valerie Lamar afterwards, she was being short with me and admitted that she got in trouble for sharing certain information with me and said that now sheâs really not going to tell me anything. This is when she really started to ignore me. They refuse to acknowledge any of this and after I had complained to the new Area Director about this she was being passive aggressive and when I asked can I record this call she said you can speak to our lawyers if you want? And surely just so coincidentally after that, the call was disconnected and I never got a call back or a follow up after that. Iâd love to talk to someone from corporate. That is not any of the mentioned people in this review. I am disgusted with the way they have been treating me as a long time resident. I have actual recording of Valerie Lamar saying she will not renew my lease if I donât get it resolved with my kids. She literally told me to control my kids in the recording. I also was told by Autumn Grove that if I have a complaint with a resident, it is best to talk to them personally to see if I can resolve it myself before going to the office. So unprofessional. Very disgusting
Had my car broken into TWO TIMES! Donât park in visitors garage!
Update:
Today I went in the elevator, as I normally do to get to my car and the elevator is flooded with water. When I asked the heavy set caucasian bald guy who works for Weidner and had his shirt on, when they were going to fix the elevator he responded with a tone saying âI donât work for this property. I work for another property and this is normal when it rains.âThatâs very gross. this is how they will treat you whenever you have an issue with the building or staff....
Read moreMoved out last year but never had time to review with moving across states and what not. Overall it should be a very modern beautiful building. However, we experienced some serious issues that either we're ignored, not taken seriously, etc.
-my vehicle was parked locked in the "secure" parking garage near security cameras. I came and found my windows smashed out, radio ripped out of my car, door handles ripped off, and over 900 dollars of damage / stolen goods. They informed me they couldn't do anything for me. They also would not cooperate with the police and told me the security cameras were not working. I asked them to at the very least send out a notice to the residents to secure belongings and to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior. They refused. Two weeks later I saw another car with bashed out windows. A week later another car as well was broken into. -smoke free facility but our neighbors constantly smoked weed on their balcony right next to our bedroom. Office said they would take care of it, and it kept happening. -the closet with the hvac flooded at some point before we moved in. There was mold growing behind the baseboards and behind the gypboard. Causing severe mildew smells throughout the whole apartment. They refused to fix it. When they finally came up with a solution, it was to spray paint the base board. Yes. Spray paint moldy water damaged wood. -the dishwasher was disgusting when we moved in. It smelt like pure sewage. I cleaned it three times trying to get the grease and smell out. We told them about it, they came in and literally just put bleach in it. Which did literally nothing. -they increased rent the maximum allowed by the state, each year we lived there. Even though we never had complaints against us and we paid rent on time each month. -the dog park is literally a health hazard. Causes the entire top floor of the parking garage to smell vile. Not to mention they don't actually clean any of the hallways or elevators. So their is often literal dog crap or puddles of pee in the hallways and elevator. -security in the building was an actual joke. -you pay each month for common space utilities. And your rent pays for the common space. But they decided it would be a good idea to rent out the common spaces, inside and outside at the pool, for private events. So many weekends we could not use the pool, pool tables, etc because they posted signs up that said residents were not allowed to use the space while the event was going on. Yes, you, as a paying resident cannot use the amenities you pay for each month. -we took very good care of our unit. We are very cleanly people. No pets. We paid a professional cleaner to clean our whole apartment. We also paid a professional carpet cleaning company to clean the bedroom carpet due to their requirement. THEY STILL KEPT A DECENT PORTION OF OUR DEPOSIT FOR CLEANING INCLUDING CLEANING THE CARPETS? what a joke. If I had more energy I would have fought back against it but at that point I was just so done with this place that I wanted to end the stress.
I will say the old maintenance "manager" was probably the main problem when it came to maintence items on the above list. His replacement was actually a pretty nice guy that seemed to take more pride in what he did.
It really is a shame that they run the place the way they do. Because it is in a decent location and is a relatively new building.
Also, if you hit me with that generic "we want to hear more about your experience" I'm not interested. Everything you need to know is right there. You charged us almost 2000 a month for a shoe box 600 sqft apartment, riddled with major...
Read moreI posted this on Yelp, but thought to also post here... I've lived in this property for a few months now and I can say that it is easily one of the best apartment living experiences I've ever had! Josh in the leasing office ensured I was taken care of from day one and supported me during my move in process by doing everything he could to facilitate a seamless transition from my old apartment. I am particular when looking at apartments and amenities so getting a 5 star review from me is saying something. From the CLEAN pool to the CLEAN gym to the IMMACULATE resident lounge area (with a HUGE tv), I am impressed many times over. If there's one suggestion I could offer for improvement, it would be to put wipes/sanitation stations, like the one in the gym, in all the resident common areas. Common areas are constantly cleaned, but a little extra would mean a lot. I saw a review stating that the person was "made" to sign "forms". Personally, I have never encountered a situation with an apartment community anywhere where I was made to or forced to sign papers. Also, I get packages - a lot of packages - and I've never once had any of them from UPS, USPS, or Amazon delayed for delivery due to inability to access the building, regardless of what day of the week it is. The community is quiet (the walls are almost sound proof), and trust me - I don't tolerate noisy apartments. If you choose to live here, and I really recommend you do, anything you're not satisfied with or need clarified, just ask anyone in the leasing office. All my questions/concerns are resolved usually within a day. It's so much easier to tell someone in management what's wrong versus not telling them anything, not having your problem resolved, then leaving a bad review... My actual apartment is beautiful and you can tell that things are constructed with premium materials. Carpeting in the bedrooms and closet was clean on move in and I've had no issues at all. If my carpeting wasn't clean at any apartment, I would do a walk through before move in with a member of the staff and simply just request it be cleaned. For the price of living in this community, I promise it's worth...
