Pecos Park is a medium to large sized park. It does not do everything adequately but offers a great deal of variety. Hopefully over the coming decades upgrades and additions will be available through funding. The park is basically next to the free way on the west side of the road. If practical there should be a slow addition of many trees perhaps fifty to one hundred feet from the freeway. More park like, better for the air and far more attractive. Also a sound dampening effect? The center has a small dance area, small strength training room, class rooms, nice lobby and a medium sized gym/ badketball court. While I was at the park it was set up as badminton and really well done. Most areas were empty. The major attraction today was splash pad, and pool with a high density of visitors having a good time. I attempted to show the sign explaining dog parks closed June 1, 2022- August 15, 2022 but even with the photo on the dogpark entry Google Maps was unable to verify. On Google Maps it shows the soccer fields temporarily closed. I guess I missed any hint of that. Usually with maintainance and or upgrades it is clearly shown with a sign. The signs on the dog parks should be supplemented with a couple more on the southside parking lot. Half the people left the park and the other half walked and ran there dogs...
Read moreWe meet my son's soccer team on the soccer fields. The park is well kept and there are many fields to play on. I like how organized the parking lot is. Easy directions on how to get in and out. The playground is far from the fields which I don't like. Doesn't fit my particular needs because I have younger kids with me but I still want to watch my eldest son play soccer. I would have to literally leave the field and go across the street to let the younger two play on the playground. Looks like there is a building at the end of the park that has restrooms but we have never had to use them so I cannot report on...
