Phoenix College graduate writing!! I have had a wonderful experience at Phoenix College. It was affordable and I'm starting my new job 100% debt free due to the affordable college tuition. I am a medical assistant graduate and I'm so glad I did my studies at Phoenix College. The medical assistant program director Monica N. is superb and one of the hardest working ladies I know. Despite how busy she is being both a program director and a teacher, she always made time for me whether it was in class or if I had a question about issues or concerns within the program. To prospective medical assistant or healthcare students I have to say this: choose a community college instead of a private college. First of and VERY CRUCIAL - Phoenix College is an accredited school with accredited programs. But the best thing is that you will graduate without being seriously in debt. Other programs will try to lure you in and say you can graduate in as little as 9 months. But at what cost? If you can wait a little longer to finish your program I definitely think it's worth it. Also, this school has a great reputation amongst healthcare companies. I was able to acquire a job at a great company that is very well known despite being a new grad.
When it comes to the staff all over campus, EVERYONE is helpful and knowledgeable. They really care about students. Also, the testing center staff are awesome as well! Susan at the testing center helped me in the process of taking the HESI A2. I was very nervous, but she was so funny and encouraging and it really helped my nerves.
I LOVE this school, I will likely take another program at this school in the future. So proud to...
Read moreOnly if I could put zero stars. Students interested in this college who have special accommodations or disabilities BACK AWAY. Gene whom is the director of the disability office is very unhelpful and some instructors are worse. When submitting my documents to Gene he than lectured me on how students submit false documents and basically refused my doctors papers until I shared with him the doctors phone number and fax for verification. He than stated that he couldn’t contact the doctors office because of confidentiality. SO WHY GO THROUGH ALMOST TWO WEEKS OF BACK AND FOURTH DRAMA for nothing. Only if I could post emails. The semester is coming to an end, one instructor Scott Gibbon he teaches HCC130. In this particular course, you have to score a 75% or higher to pass the class. My accommodations are for extra time on my test and one day extra for assignments. On every quiz, chapter EXAM and assignment, my accommodations have been applied until now for the FINAL EXAM. Not to mention he sent a email discussing my grade to the whole class. VERY inappropriate and belittling. There have been some small problems since I started going to this school in Aug 2016 but nothing that normally doesn’t happens with colleges. These issues in particular was the last straw for me. I noticed that I didn’t not start having problems until I submitted my documents to the disability office. Every school has there own issues with admissions, cashiers office and a few instructors but that’s normal. My experience this semester,...
Read moreTheir staff has the worse disposition. They are rude, carless and inefficient. I requested a copy of my official transcript more than two weeks ago (as it was suggested by an operator on the chat since getting them on the phone for information is nearly impossible). I called three days later to confirm, at that time a rude lady told me in a very condescending tone that they had replied to my email requesting additional information. Either their email system failed or she was lying, I never received this email and I even checked my junk mail. I sent another email with the additional information. Again I called to confirm the transcript had been mailed out... no luck, yet another problem, yet another reply by email I never received. I finally decided to fax the request, I called to confirm right away, I was told the request would be processed... guess what? a week later I called again, apparently there had been another issue and even though I had talked to the same person several times and told her how important it was that the transcript get mailed out she did not have the decency to call me and let me know there was a problem. This happened on 11/08/12.... as of this afternoon (11/13/12) they have not been mailed out yet... I'm now crossing my fingers that they get mailed out tomorrow. Unfortunately this is ALWAYS the case with Phoenix College... their education is fine, and they also have the biggest selection of classes (btw all other Maricopa Community Colleges) but their staff is very...
