My husband and I surprised our 10-year old daughter with a 72-Gallon Bow Front Aqueon Aquarium. We found Ocean Floor where Jamison helped us and we told him our plan. Instead of getting the $300 stand, we decided to have one custom made by our cabinet guy who was already doing built in desks in our office. (He measured, drew up plans and reinforced the portion for the aquarium based on our requirements & specs.) We spent about $2,600 that day, didn't even take anything home and had to set back our date of installation until the custom cabinet was in place. Jamison and all of the Ocean Floor people knew this. 3 weeks later, we had their installation guys (Ramon & another guy) bring out the aquarium materials and set it up, which was another $500. Our cabinet guy was there at the same time and they raved about what an excellent job he did. They even asked for pictures to post to Ocean Floor's website. 10 days after our install, we walk into the office to put chemicals in the water (it's so new we don't even have fish yet) and there is water all over the floor, soaked our brand new custom cabinets, floors, boxes with business & personal documents, etc. My husband immediately called Ocean Floor to speak with Jamison. When they talked they figured it might've been a seal that went bad. He said he had to tell the owner and call us back. Long story short, Jamison called us back (the owner didn't even have the decency to call us) and said because we didn't use their $300 Aqueon stand that it wasn't under warranty!!!! First, they tried to blame it on our cabinet guy, then they tried to say it was something that we must've done. He said that if it had leaked while they were doing the install they could've replaced it. Jamison offered to swap out the aquarium at cost. He then said we'd have to call Aqueon ourselves to find out about their warranty. We never signed anything waiving a warranty. They all knew we were building a custom cabinet for the aquarium which was 100 times sturdier and better than their $300 Aqueon stand and now they won't provide us with a copy of our receipt! This is NOT how a local business we were trying to support should operate. It's completely unethical and deceitful!
$8,600 in FLOODING DAMAGE: flooring, brand new custom cabinets, etc. and we're out $3,000 + on the aquarium, pump, filter, heaters, installation, accessories. Worst of all, our daughter's heart is broken because she's read dozens of books and done months of research on how to be a fish keeper. They are even refusing to supply us with a copy of our original receipts and other paperwork that our attorney has requested. SO SHADY!!! DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! See...
Read moreMy first visit to Oceans Floor dates back to around 2008 when I was just a kid tagging along with my parents. Even back then, the experience stood out as exceptional. If there had been a 10-star rating system, we wouldâve gladly given it the full 10. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, guiding us through our first dive into the aquarium world with patience and enthusiasm. The variety of fish, tanks, and accessories was almost overwhelming but in the best way possible. It sparked a genuine excitement and curiosity that stayed with me over the years.
Fast forward over 15 years, I recently walked through those same doors again this time as an adult with my own family. The nostalgia hit hard, but what impressed me more was that the quality of service hadnât changed one bit. Naomi and the rest of the staff were welcoming, informative, and respectful of the fact that we were just browsing. We werenât pressured to buy anything, but we were still given the attention and help we needed as we asked questions and explored our options.
What really sets Oceans Floor apart is how beginner friendly it is. Whether youâre brand new to the hobby or a seasoned aquarist, they make it easy to find what you need without overwhelming you. The store has everything you can imagine, from fish and corals to tanks, filters, and dĂ©cor, making it a one-stop shop for all things aquatic. And while itâs easy to be tempted to splurge, itâs also a great place to visit on a budget. The staff will work with you and help you make smart choices based on your needs.
My wife and I were originally just comparing prices with Amazon, but after visiting the store again, we agreed that weâll be back soon to make our first real purchase: a family fish tank for our daughterâs birthday. Thereâs something about seeing the products in person, getting real time advice, and knowing youâre supporting a local business that makes a big difference. Oceans Floor gave us confidence that weâll be taken care of every step of the way.
In the end, I give Oceans Floor a full five stars without hesitation. Itâs rare to find a business that maintains its high standards for over a decade, but this place has done exactly that. I can sincerely recommend it to anyone whether youâre starting your first tank or looking to add to your current setup. Weâll definitely be back and you can bet you that I will be uploading pictures next time Iâm in there, and Iâm excited to make new memories here...
Read moreI canât even begin to express how incredibly disappointed I am. I have been coming to this store for all of my aquarium needs. This store is 50 minutes away from my home but we still made the commute. We have spent over $6,000 at this store ranging from a brand new $3,000 tank to aquarium equipment, filters and more. We are just starting up a saltwater aquarium and planned to purchase several expensive fish at this store. We were recommended to purchase a wave simulator to help with the circulation of our tank. After taking the box the employee recommended, we went home and tested it out the next day. The device didnât work, it would turn on and everything but it did not provide the circulation that the employee promised. I snipped a video of my tank to show the managers how there is no circulation in my tank with this device. So the manager plugs it in, puts it in their tank at the store and says âwell it clearly works so I donât see a reason for returning itâ. He also threw in there that if he returns a used product he canât resell it. First, how was I supposed to know the product meant to be placed in the aquarium wouldnât work unless I placed it in the aquarium?? Second, what the company does with the product afterwards is none of my business. They could damage the product out and the company can write it off as a loss. It took for me to get upset and angry with the situation for the manager to finally agree to exchange or give a store credit. Which I was perfectly fine with in the beginning, but the fact that a loyal customer who has invested so much into that store, had to get angry and upset just for a 30 dollar store credit, was completely ridiculous. I understand there are story policies in place as does every other store. But this store for sure lacked customer service. And for that Iâve donated my 30 dollar store credit card and I do not plan on returning. My advice to those who would like to go to this store, buy your aquarium devices on Amazon. Better price, and better...
