In this very unsuspecting hole in the wall Italian eatery, you will find that most everything you taste will be fresh, and flavorful. I never would have seen this place if not for the reviews, which honestly seemed too good to be true. In trying the dishes for myself, I am very glad that I was wrong. While most restaurants would consolidate their menus by reducing options and simplifying selections; this restaurant takes common, tasty sauces, and pairs them with entrees that have their own flavor profile, all while maintaining it's authenticity. With the name of "Pizza A Metro" I fully expected the menu to highlight the pizza, but I was not prepared in the slightest to be dazzled by the light, fluffy, crispy pizza crust they serve. The exceptional sauce to cheese to toppings ratio is also one of those specifics that most pizza makers fail to aspire to. Everything was great. We tried the carbonara, cheese ravioli, veal cannelloni, Pollo affumicato, and pepperoni pizza. Everything was balanced, flavorful, and filling. While the prices may drive away some patrons; I would be willing to pay a premium for this quality of food. I hope to return soon, hungry for more.

Mama mia! Don’t let its size or location fool you, the ratings for this place are legit! Yeah it’s a rough part of town, yeah you’re essentially sitting on top of one another inside, but if you’re lucky they’ll walk you through the kitchen to their patio out back. It sort of feels like a portal to Italy. The owner made us feel perfectly at home with her charm and banter. It was like we’d known each other for years. Our entrees were preceded by some beautiful bread and a tomato and onion concoction that reminded me of bruschetta (I can’t recall it’s name, my Italian isn’t very strong). We didn’t order a pizza this time, but the bread is the exact same as the pizza dough, and let me tell you, it was bread heaven. I can’t wait to come back for a Pizza, and believe me, I’ll be back. My linguini carbonara was insanely rich and creamy and decadent. Very, very good. Almost too good. And we were served more bread, but were strictly told not to touch it until the food came out! Sometimes we all need some loving but firm guidance haha. Pizza A Metro is not only worth trying, it’s a must. Seriously. It’s that good. Grazie mille!

This review is long overdue! I have been coming here for the past 14 years and in the beginnings I would stop by on my bicycle after school and get a slice of pizza 🍕. The pizza here is out of this world! There is no other place that can compete with Pizza A Metro’s quality of Italian food and especially its pizza! The juiciness of every pizza bite, with a perfect light toasted pizza crust, and the concoction of flavors of fine mozzarella and tomatoes in my mouth is something that everyone needs to try! The pastas are on a whole other level as well! Above all, Margarita has been a gem all these years! Thank you for not giving up on this place and now it is a masterpiece! Unfortunately now I live in California, but whenever I come back home to visit mom, I always stop by for my slice of pizza 🍕.

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love this place. The staff is always super friendly/helpful and the food here is top tier! I've never run into any problems here... Unfortunately, today was the strangest encounter I've ever had at any restaurant. I purchased the 39-inch pizza, ordered ahead of time due to a time crunch(family dinner). Once I got there, it was a bit busy and crowded. Which is understandable, so I stood there and waited for my order. Once it came out, it was never handed to me. Instead, it was given to a random couple(2 ladies) waiting at a table? From my perception, I was thinking "okay these ladies bought the same sized pizza". As the waitress was laying down my pizza, I recall her saying something but couldn't fully comprehend what was being said. From it being loud in there, from my understanding, it seemed like they needed more time? So unfortunately there wasn't any clarification on if it was my pizza order or not? Which to my surprise, it was indeed my $80 pizza order. The whole time I was being delayed for my family dinner party... Watching two complete strangers touch all over my order and even opening my pizza box just to have their fill on taking random pictures. I was never informed, nor did I agree? The waitress was nice, but she kept trying to resure me that somehow everything's fine? Even though it was very inconsiderate and made my experience an overall...

You ever heard of a whole in the wall?? This place is the exact definition. Lets start with this place is in the most "sketchiest" circle K mini strip and is tucked quietly, almost secretly in the tiny corner. Its very small and when you walk in you will see what i mean. More than likely a lovely women named Margarita will greet you and she is part of the experience that is pizza a metro. (lovely would be an understatement) Now lets move onto the blazing wood fire oven cooking the amazing pizza thay awaits you. In front of the oven the dough is being rolled out right in front of you. The crakle of the fire, smells, confined atmosphere and the lovely Margarita moving from table, to kitchen, to pickup orders(one women show.) , makes for a truly unique experience. As they say, ive saved the best for last, the pizza!!!!!!! I dont want to spoil anything really but i do want to warn you that the largest size is well larger thank you would think. Its perfect for big families and in my opinion is insane value when you see the size of this thing. If you have small car transportation of said pizza maybe difficult. (Dead serious) To conclude this pizza is made with some amazing thin crust, premium toppings, ( sausage baby ) and copious amounts of love. Stop reading this review and just...

Margarita: My Oregon family has been to your restaurant a number a times. I’m the Italian from Boston. We were told you were there only Wednesdays and Thursdays. Too bad! I wanted to meet you. Food: The appetizer of toasted bread and relish was delightful. Different! But we like different. We ordered the veal as a starter. Fantastic! 6 of us shared. Truly wonderful. We then ordered the 36” pizza….half chez; half pepperoni. Another home run. For dessert: What Italian meal would not be complete without a cannoli. Piped when we ordered it as it should be. Very tasty! We also ordered a bottle of Chianti. Very very good! Some Chiantis can be overly dry. This one was not! Service was a bit sub par but okay. Not great but not bad. She tried! By the way: Dimitri is my pen name!

May 22, 2024: The family went to celebrate my wife’s birthday! Food: calamari, veal cannoli, chicken Marsala, linguine Bolognese, two pizzas and dessert. Could not have been better! Service: Margarita is the owner and she works the floor. When’s the last time you went to a restaurant where you were able to talk with the owner? And she is absolutely delightful. She cares and has a deep passion for her business ….and it shows. Again…just...
