Smith Park — Attraction in Pico Rivera

Too many kids smoking pot near kids play area . Egg shells all over park makes it slippery for someone unable to walk well actually walk without sliding. This park is usually very clean and kept up but I can see that it isn't a priority like it used to be. I see the maintenance workers there all the time . 3-5 workers all together doing things but I think this problem with the park lies within the folks responsible for maintenance schedules . Easter and Easter weekend in general is a big day for breaking eggs and why on Tuesday are the pieces everywhere ( parents should have cleaned up their own mess actually ) but still ?? Yuck !! Smith Park will always have a special place in my heart. It's where my Twins, (who will be playing College ⚾️ in Pennsylvania in spring of '23, and my youngest, who will be playing High School ⚾️ for one of the best coaches in Cali at Warren H.S. next year) got their start. Pony Baseball at that park has gotten much better under their somewhat new President, Marcos Armenta, and his amazing board. It's always clean and well maintained. Four baseball fields, a football/soccer field and a skate park, for now. If you want your son or daughter to play in a recreational sport, this is the park to go to. My son has lots of fun here. He loves that the tower on the playground goes so high and the tube slides to go down are fast. The only problem I have with the park is that there are two ways in to the main playground area. Directly next to the playground is the parking lot. And the fence separating the playground to parking lot is only waist high. In my opinion easy for child to be abducted and pulled in to a car to quickly.
