a review from @amom2kidsandapark A nice park nestled in the hills of Piedmont with giant trees, tall bridges, plenty of green grass, a tree stump picnic table and a unique playground. The play area has swings, a structure, plenty of sand, a climbing wall and a wide cement slide in the center. (A perfect alternative to the long windy cement slide at Codornices). The structure has steps, a climbing surface, a ladder, monkey bars, a steering wheel and a noise maker. The other side of the slide is mostly sand with a few small knee high rocks for climbing. The play area has two swing sets (standard on one side of the big slide and bucket on the other). Between the sandy play area and the open grass field is a great climbing wall with many options for the aspiring rock climbers. The grass area is surrounded by a sidewalk look making a perfect place for scooting or biking. There’s no exit beyond the climbing wall so it’s a nice worry free space to let a kid play. The playground is near the bathrooms 💯 This park is, just like it’s name says, on an old an old quarry and young geologists can climb the hills and see evidence of the parks history. There are many entrances into this park. From the lower entrance Ricardo Ave, it’s a short walk up a sidewalk to the playground. From El Cerrito Ave it’s even less of a distance. There is resident only parking on Artuna Ave so be mindful of that. There are a few entrances on Park Way that start out in the trees and a couple on Dracena Way. There is off leash dog areas so be aware if you have littles who might get frightened. Don’t miss the very lord of the rings vibe tree stump table 🤩

This long, narrow park is nestled in redwoods that provide natural shade and climbing opportunities. The grassy meadows are lovely for picnics, parties, and sports. The play structures are simple and small but kept clean and well maintained. It is not enclosed from the street so it's necessary not to be distracted from little ones. Visibility is low from the back end of the park to the front. Parking is not bad. The neighborhood has lots of hills and expensive homes, the park reflects that vibe.

A nice spread of park! It has a short walk through redwood trees that was peaceful and if you start at the top there, you can walk down the path to the main park where there is a big open grassy field and a playground. Lots of benches but I wish there were a few more tables to have lunch on. It’s a nice area none the less!

I'm from Berkeley but recently moved to Oakland and was trying to find some nice parks to take my son, so I googled parks near and this came up. I looked at the reviews and images and thought it would be fun. I was so wrong as Black women I had the worse experience I have ever had at a park. Just pure racism. Unfiltered just raw. I tried to put on a smile for my son but I was very saddened by this treatment I received. I don't drive so taking a Lyft all the way there was a lot. I was mean mugged constantly by Asian nanny despite smiling at her, even though she smiled at everyone that was there. I was told that I should've went to San Pablo park in Berkeley instead by another nanny only 10 mins in. And asked if I could drive which I don't then asked how'd I get there followed by how much I paid for lyft. It seemed all the dads were irritated by my presence. Some of the little kids said they wanted to play elsewhere when we got to the play structure. I honestly was so shocked. I don't know much about piedmont, I didn't check before coming because I thought this park was located in Oakland. But piedmont do better please being that rude is just unnecessary really. It ruined my trip out with my son. It ruined the rest of my day. It's been hours later and I can still see this Asian nanny face giving me the meanest stare I have Ever received in my life. For no reason at all. All I wanted was to be treated like every other person there. What I would've gave to get her to smile back at me. It's so sad makes you feel uilty and you haven't done nothing wrong. Hopefully I can recover from...

Dracena Quarry Park in Oakland, CA is a great place for a dog walk. The park is located in a residential area, so there are plenty of houses and trees to enjoy along the way.

In terms of scenery, it's beautiful with lush greenery, trees, and views of the surrounding hills. There are also benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the park where you can rest and enjoy the surroundings.

The park has several trails to explore, which range from easy to moderate difficulty. The trails are well-maintained, making it easy to navigate through the park. Dogs are welcome in the park as long as they are on a leash. Certain sections of the park dogs are allowed off leash. Be sure to keep an eye out for the signs.

Overall, Dracena Quarry Park is a great place for a peaceful walk with your furry friend. The scenery is beautiful, and the park is easy to access with...
