I boarded my 2 dogs while on vacation and all seemed well at first I had webcam access so I was able to check in every so often until there was threat of hurricane Idalia hitting. They contacted my emergency contact on a Monday to inform them that the dogs needed to be picked up as they would be closing and would be unstaffed and the dogs needed to be picked up by 7pm. My emergency contact informed them that he gets off of work at 6 and needed a little more time in order to pick them up. My husband called and spoke to Brittany who told him that the lobby closes at 7 but someone would be there until 10. A few hours later someone else called and asked if the dogs would be picked up and what time because no one would be there after 10 so the dogs needed to be picked up before 7. My husband explained that Brittany told us someone would be there until 10 and we have someone coming but they are going to be there a little after 6 and she responded with I don’t know why anyone would tell you that. Then our call got disconnected as we are on a cruise with very limited service. We call back and the phone goes to voicemail and I’m now unable to see the webcams. I was in communication with my friend who was on their way to pick them up but at no point did they call him again to get an ETA. They finally called us again after I left a voicemail and said that it was fine as long as someone was on their way and someone would be there until 10 but the lobby would be closed. When my friend finally picked up the dogs apparently they didn’t even know which dog was which. Im very dissatisfied with the level of communication this place had. We totally understand that they had to close for the safety of their staff and pets boarding with them but they should have communicated better with our emergency contact. We obviously boarded them because we would be away so common sense would tell you that if there is an emergency contact and your unable to get hold of the owners then you should be communicating with them since after all this was considered an emergency. This is the first time I’ve ever boarded my dogs and felt confident that I’d be able to enjoy my vacation without worrying about my pets and I was left extremely disappointed. It seemed like there was a rush to get my dogs out by Monday when the storm didn’t hit until Wednesday and again we understand that they need to ensure their staff and pets in their care are safe but there was a poor level of...
Read moreOn August 26th, we dropped our 2 yorkies off at boarding to stay until the 29th. When we dropped them off, our dog Mason was completely fine & healthy. Then while we were out of town, my mom picked them up on August 29th about 2:00 PM. At that time she called me & said Mason had a bad cough. I told her to keep an eye on him & to give him some kennel cough drops. She let the boarding facility know & they just said it sounded like a reverse sneeze. They were not concerned at all. I find it hard to believe that he didn't show any systems of coughing or heavy breathing while he was in there care. Yet no one ever called me to voice concern about him. By the time we flew back on Tuesday morning, Mason had gotten worse & so we rushed him to an Emergency Vet. They said he had pneumonia & a collapsed Trachea. This visit cost us thousands of dollars. We are almost positive he got a bad case of kennel cough that then caused him to get pneumonia. The vet did the best they could but our sweet boy Mason ended up passing the morning of September 1st. We are at a loss of words on how our dog can be completely fine when we dropped him off for boarding & then just a couple of days later he is dead. This was not the first time he had gotten Kennel Cough from this facility either. He also got it back in May when we boarded him there. Thankfully that time it was a very mild case & he got better with just medicine. I just wanted everyone to be made aware of this situation so you maybe think twice about boarding your dog at Bay Paws. Like I said our dog got Kennel Cough twice while boarding there & now he has passed because of it. We will no longer be boarding our other dog Kaleb with them to avoid something like this happening to...
Read moreI never write reviews, but I'm compelled to write this review because I'm still extremely upset with the treatment my puppy received on his last few days at this facility. There seem to be a disconnect between the front office staff and the boarding staff. You provide your boarding instructions to the office staff, however the boarding staff refuses to follow the directions. I had to call several times to request the staff keep my puppy in his jacket to stay warm and comfortable, because they kept removing his jacket. Everytime i called the office staff was cery sweet and would say, yes, no problem, they would take care of it, but it would only last for half a shift. I also requested they remove the water bowl from his kennel as I don't leave water in his kennel at home and he is a puppy and will drink until he can't drink anymore, and also knock the water over. I witnessed on Baw Paw dog boarding camera my puppy spill his water container in his kennel and water went all over his blanket and kennel floor. I called the after hours boarding staff and advised her that the water container was not supposed to be in his kennel and that someone needed to go clean up the water on the floor. I see the staff on camera go inside his kennel and refused to interact with him as he was happ someone was there and was jumping up, she yells at him and throws down the towel in the kennel and left the floor wet all evening. She also left his water bowl in the kennel all evening again as well. Extremely unacceptable to treat my...
