I was really surprised and happy to be wrong about this store.. I completely expected it to be full of gun professional Douchebags.. I'm sure if you frequent or have been to more than a couple of gun stores that you have come across these special, to cool to answer your question, know it all,I don't want to reach that item @sshats..lol.. OK, well, about shoot straight now that I am finished venting, Immediately after opening the door, I was greeted by a superfriendly Gentlemen unfortunately I can not remember his name but I know he said he had been there for a week so he is new.. Great job buddy!!!you immediately greeted me and let me know that if I needed anything or had any questions, that you would be happy to answer or help me out. He happened to be helping another customer yet still showed me that he acknowledged my presence and let me know he had my back if need be.. So again my first time in this store and I i came in to use the firing range. On my way over to the range counter. I walked by their table with the firearms that are on sale and some of those are great prices.. The only reason that I am not leaving 5 stars is because of the items that are not on sale in my opinion the other prices and ammo are a little high.. Personally I expect small family owned places to be a little high but large chains not so much and I get much better prices at some of the small shops in the area.. I made my way to the range desk and again the guys were very polite, helpful, professional and friendly.. I even signed up to become a range member.. The price for the range was on point and for rentals if you need them is fair. I am happy that you guys showed me wrong and will actually be excited to come shoot regularly . I think this is a great store for new gun buyers and that would want to shoot some different stuff to see what they like.. For the new buyers make sure you shop around though because there are several different brands that will give you a lot for your money and with great quality and they seem to have a lot of selections there but not as many different...
Read moreWe've been coming here for years. Stopped coming for a while after I was flagged and my husband said something to the unsafe handler. Started coming again, because you should always practice and stay fresh with your firearm. So, we try and come during nonpeak times, because we have been flagged more than once. Even still, I am always watching other people in their stalls, because there is never a range officer. Yesterday was one of those days. It wasn't packed. It was the perfect day and the perfect time. The range had two other stalls being used, while we were there. They came and left. Then it was just us. Shortly after, two older ladies came in. Immediately I could tell I needed to keep an eye on them. Soon after, one of the ladies was doing something with her gun OUTSIDE of their stall. I said she needed to keep her firearm in her stall, and she replied- "I know." Then I proceeded to say, then get in there. We left. We told the kid about stall 3 as we walked out. So, the unsafe handlers got to stay, while we left, because it's not worth it. YOU DON'T GET SECOND CHANCES even if it is resulting in ignorance, disrespect, and stupidity with your firearm. There should always be a range officer on duty and they should pay attention to the cameras they have installed in there. You'd think so, especially after they relocated from their former location. It'd be nice to be able to come to the range and feel safe. Not feeling like you need to do the employee's job to make sure you're not getting flagged and/ or seeing others with their guns outside of the stall. Yesterday was completely unacceptable. Safety is a must. There is no room for error. It can literally be a life and death situation quickly. And again, we don't get second chances. Operate your firearm(s) with respect and safety...
Read moreI came into "Shoot Straight" today (Thursday June 16, 2016 at 3PM) with the intentions of buying both a Winchester gun safe as well as a Smith & Wesson revolver. I was fairly excited to make the purchases as they had lower prices than in Arizona, which is where I'm from originally. I waited at the counter for 30 minutes without any assistance; but honestly that isn't what bothered me. After waiting PATIENTLY for 30 minutes, I asked one of the employees if I could please get someone to assist me, as I had been waiting awhile (Believe me when I say I conducted myself with extreme mannerism). I asked him if they had any S&W 500's and he said "Maybe in the front". Ok I said, I'll look around and wait a little longer for someone to help me; I was a little irritated, but continued to wait patiently and politely. After waiting a bit longer I asked another employee if I could get some assistance and he straight up said NO. At first I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. He just looked at me blankly as if I were stupid and didn't belong in the store. I don't know why I was treated this way but the whole store made me feel very unwanted and uncomfortable. I left the store and plan on making my purchase elsewhere at this point. I didn't manage to catch the employee's name who refused to help me because I left directly after the incident, but I could describe him as having darker skin, black hair, and was working in the center of the store with an orange construction-like shirt which he was wearing over his uniform. Very disappointed and definitely won't...
