Review by Kenneth “Pappy” Smith – Peg Leg Ink Studio If you’re anywhere near Largo, Florida and you ain’t been to Lucky’s Tattoo Supply Museum, you’re flat-out sleepin’ on a slice of pure, undiluted American tattoo history. I ain’t talkin’ about some shiny, sterilized tourist trap with a few old flash sheets behind glass—nah, this place is the real deal. It’s a walk through time, through culture, through the blood, sweat, and ink of every artist who ever carved a legacy into human skin. I had the absolute honor of takin’ a spin through this hidden gem, and from the second I walked in, I knew I was somewhere special. It’s not just a museum—it’s a living, breathing temple of tattoo culture, packed to the rafters with relics, stories, and energy you can feel in your bones. You don’t just see the history at Lucky’s—you stand in the middle of it. I had the chance to kick it with Jimmy, the man behind it all. And let me say this loud for the people in the back: Jimmy is the kind of guy you don’t meet every day. This man is a walking archive, a true OG with a heart of gold and a mind overflowing with tattoo knowledge. His love for the craft is raw, pure, and deep—deeper than ink in skin, deeper than the roots of a 1940s coil machine. And that love spills into every room, every display, every square inch of this sacred space. One thing you can’t miss is the “No Photos or Videos Allowed” room. That’s not a gimmick—it’s respect. You walk in and it’s like stepping into the soul of tattooing itself. Machines, original flash, hand-built tools, artist tributes, and forgotten legends come alive around you. The energy in that room hits you like a freight train. It’s humbling. It’s inspiring. And it’s so damn dense with history, you’d need a solid year just to absorb half of it. And here’s the kicker: Lucky’s is open Monday through Friday, just waiting for you to come soak in the legacy. No appointment needed. No big showy ads. Just a door, a legend behind it, and a collection that’ll leave your heart pounding and your spirit charged. This ain’t just a museum. This is a tribute to where we came from, a love letter to those who came before us, and a fire lit under the next generation of artists. It reminds you why we ink. Why we grind. Why we never stop. So from one peg-legged, inked-up, old-school soul to every artist, collector, and lover of tattoo culture out there: do yourself a favor. Make the pilgrimage. Shake Jimmy’s hand. And experience tattoo history the way it was meant to be felt—raw, real, and unforgettable. Stay solid, stay humble, and never forget your roots. – Kenneth “Pappy” Smith Peg Leg Ink Studio 🔩🖤

Lucky’s tattoo museum has recently moved into a new building that is just as beautiful as the last, but with double the space! This feature artifacts from any of the past greats- sailor Jerry, Bert Grimm Mike Malone, Ed Hardy just to name a few. Its free to visit and nothing like anything I’ve ever seen.

When you buy a tattoo machine from this place, it’s a legit, no BS professional piece of equipment. You know how I know that? Because I use them everyday to create awesome tattoos and when you need them serviced, they take care of you. Not like your average large tattoo supply company Thaks

One of the best museums to visit if you have interest in tattoos or tattoo history. We took my husband who is a tattoo artist for his birthday and he was in awe. The collection of machines from all kinds of material and artists is impressive! What a collection. Also a ton of beautiful flash and original artwork. They also have a beautiful AB&B . The attention to detail, knowledge of everything from our tour guide, and cleanliness truly reflects the dedication and passion Lucky Supply puts into their craft. If I could give more than 5...

Really cool museum to check out if you've even got a passing interest in tattoos. Lots of amazing, original art from big name tattooers + their machines. The folks that work here are really friendly and knowledgeable, definitely will be going on a tattoo history binge after today lol. They also make tattoo machines and it's really so cool to see how the individual parts are made and...
