Visitor Center — Attraction in Piscataway Township

Rutgers visitor center is where you need to come if you are a potential student needing advise about application. The staff is a mix of student volunteers and paid staff. The building is newer construction, modern and impressive. When you approach the building you will be greeted by a large sign on the lawn that says "RevolUtionary" with the R and U in large red font. I'm sorry to say that our tour was not great. It wasn't really the tour guide so much, although he was annoying. The entire format was not designed to get to know the place on foot. It was mostly riding around in a tour bus. When we did stop and get out, we would just go stand in the lobby of a building, hear a little bit more, and then return to the bus. The Rutgers visitor center is a mostly useless building. It is completely for show. However, visitors can park there (not) for free. So, that is definitely a plus. A better use of the space would be to knock it down and build a parking lot, or perhaps another research building. The fact is, Rutgers does not really need a visitor center.
