Church of the Good Shepherd — Attraction in Pittsburg

Unfortunately my Mom, Aunt and myself have not been treated like the people who posted their reviews in the past. I didn't really understand what happened the 1st time I sent my disabled mom and aunt to the food pantry this church provides on a regular basis. My aunt and my mother went the first time in which I was not there and were humiliated when the person handling the paperwork for the church told my aunt she was not allowed and was trying to steal because of a pety miscommunication.

The 2nd occurrence was 11/23/19 in which I too felt the bad vibes by the man recieving the paperwork from each person seeking assistance via their food pantry. My Mom and I arrived before 9am. Eventhough I was a mere stranger ĺto everyone) I thought setting-up the canopies and unfolding chairs would be met with gratitude and respect to myself and my mom. I didn't expect special treatment but when my Mom presented her ID & proof of address she was nervous and told the man "yes" when he asked if she was an Antioch resident. He said it was "going to be a problem" because her ID displayed her previous residence in Antioch. My mom's id is not where she or I reside and we presented mail/proof of income supporting the fact that we are Pittsburg residents. In result the man informed my mom she'd be LAST in line as a consequence for her ID not matching her SSDI/ income verification &address.. She was given #130 and we waited for at least 4hours...

We’ve come here in he past and the masses have been very good, community involved, and spiritually energized. Father Thi is awesome, and brings a lot knowledge and insight with his sermons as well as empathy and understanding of current issues and how Catholicism pertains to them.

I don’t know anything about the food pantry, but if there are issues there, do the right thing and bring it to the attention of the diocese. And yes...the grass is nice.

Bonus: This is one of the ONLY churches in the Bay Area that has a weekly Live YouTube mass. Absolutely awesome! Why aren’t other churches doing this during...

One of the best church I have visited. It’s very family oriented. Fr. Carl & Fr. Conrad are very nice & very dedicated to serve their parishioners. You can tell that they are always prepared for their Homilies. Fr. Carl has a good sense of humor that it’s impossible for you to fall asleep. It’s a very unique church for the following reasons: Daily exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Daily Confession after the morning mass Music - sounds great Office staffs are very friendly & efficient.
