The view from the top, at the entrance, is beautiful. Although you'll definitely get better views from the outlooks on Grandview Ave. There are a couple of picnic tables here. That's pretty much where the nice things end. At the moment the Grandview trail is closed in one long section so you can't hike all of it and the other trails are maintained but entire sections are littered with glass (I'm lucky my dog has very rough paw pads) and there are parts with poison ivy at ankle height. They are not very fun to walk honestly and there are better choices in Pittsburgh for sure. Obviously the noises from the highways are loud but that's to be expected considering the location. There are no real views from the trails I've walked. During the week it is very calm and you'll encounter mostly people jogging or walking their dogs. Parking is on the street. There is a portable toilet near the band stand that was clean. I'm an avid hiker but I also love nice city parks and unfortunately this is not one of those.

My husband and I visited Grandview Park on a cloudy day so I don't think it was the best version of the skyline. People told us that you get a great view of all three athletic stadiums (Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins) but the only one that is quite visible is the Steelers stadium. The view of the city is incredible and you do see a beautiful landscape with lots of mountains and trees all around the city so it is worth the trip on a sunny warm day!

This is such a lovely park and it’s perfect for walking, has trails for hiking, and tables for group activities. They often host movies in the park or other events here as well. The view is a must see especially if you want something a little bit greener than the overlooks in Mt Washington.

I took an early. Morning bike ride from Mount Lebanon to Grandview park. There's a nice long trail through the park where people are walking babies and there's also a little park area for kids. Then there's the overlook area which is just beautiful scenic. There are picnic tables in one spot. But there's plenty of places to put a blanket and have a nice picnic lunch. I didn't explore the whole part before but I did today and it's just great. Do not go there after dark. Plus...
