DISC GOLF COURSE REVIEW:
It's a decent course. Played tournaments here way back. In the 00s this was probably the best 9 hole course in the Burgh. It's your standard Par 3 course. There definitely isn't a Par 4 here, but there are few gimme birds for the average chucker. There isn't a ton of variety in the shots, but they do demand some accuracy. Most shots play either through a gap off the tee or to a basket tucked in a circle of trees.
If you're disc golfing for the nature walk....eh. The park is really a hillside between a school and some homes. Four holes play along a well used walking path. However, t was designed well to make the best of what they have. There are a lot of big courses are town but we need Par 3 courses also. This one is honestly worth a trip to avoid the crowds at Knob or Schenley if you want to get a round in...
Read moreThis is a great intermediate or beginner level 9 hole course. The holes range from 200-400 m and are mostly par 3 and maybe 1-2 par 4's with some trees as obstacles. The course is on a hill side, so walking the course is a decent workout. There also are not any major hazards to lose discs in besides some medium density woods or a neighbor's yard. This course might be a little too easy for advanced or serious disc golf players, but it is great for the casual player. Each hole has 2 tees with a short and long option, but only the longer one has the paved starting area. The course is fairly easy to follow as in we did not have too much difficulty figuring out how to get from one hole to the next. Course starts and ends near the parking lot between the high school and the community center. The course is shaded and has great views which we...
Read moreIt's a beautiful park. But right now they're putting in a new playground in the lower part of the park. Where it is flat. The rest of the park is on a slope. They have a basketball court. They use to have swing sets; but they are putting the kids area there now. I use to sit by the swings when I got off the bus to go home. You can see another of our city squirrels, busy in the fall collecting acorns for the winter. For there are a lot of Oak and Maple tree's in the park.Very shady in the summer. I'll...
