Mmm, pretty disappointed with the store here. I pre-ordered a Modern Horizons 3 collector's edition bundle about a few days after it went up for pre-order (3 months ago). Calling the store, they said they sent an email in May (never received in spam or otherwise, and 2 months after my order) that their allocation got cut and that they're having trouble getting the product in. Fair enough, likely WotC being wieners, not the store's fault. What's frustrating is that when I ask where I might be in the queue of folks to receive this product, they can't even tell me that. They said it's sent out chronologically based on preorder, but refuse to disclose where one might fall in that list, which seems shady. I'm left with 2 options: Take their refund and go get my cards at a $150 markup now that they've released or Sit and wait and hope they're not misleading me about eventually being able to procure the product. Not a 1 star because the folks answering the phone have at least been kind, but lack of transparency in business is a bit of a bummer. If you're considering pre-ordering something you're looking forward to, might want to look elsewhere.
Edit--Thanks for the response, I don't give poor reviews lightly, so I appreciate your followup. I'm not sure what you mean by 'reach out' as I've sent 2 emails regarding this and received no followup there either which led to me calling the store. Just an extra little cherry on the situation. Is there another place to reach you?
Edit Edit--They never reached back out and I have no way to contact this mysterious Google reviews monitor. Was prepared to update my 2 stars if they helped work it out or even just gave me any time frame. As is, canceled my order. Might be a good LGS, just rating on my experience, not good with transparency, follow through, or communication for...
Read moreI had zero intentions of writing a review but affter my husband wrote a review where I was told I harassed an employee I thought I would share my experience.
My husband has sold hundreds of dollars of cards here and purchased hundreds. We had a nothing but issues trading in cards every time we are forced to call to check in even though we made sure they were not busy to accept trades. Never once have we been told a time frame for authentication of over 2 weeks or non immediate payment. The most recent trade took 1 week to accept and 3 WEEKS for payment after authentication. The cards were accepted and my husband called daily for the money which was over a hundred dollars. Never is it OK to take people's property and not pay them. When I brought this to the attention of your staff. I was giving a reason but it was brushed off. I asked her how long it typically takes and she stuttered and said sorry. I asked how long does it take to pay us, same response with no answer. I urged her to inform the owner as this is concerning. There is no record of the cards that are dropped off or what the price of each card was taken for. When I also asked her why she again did not answer. This is standard practice at any place that buys items. It would be easy for a card of vaule to get "missed placed".
Your staff was bot harassed but put in a position by the owner and their bad business practices. I urged her to tell people to timeframe from now on and speak with the owner regarding our concerns about taking 3 WEEKS for payment. She again said nothing but sorry.
3 week for payment where we have to call you is unacceptable.
EDIT: We planned on calling you to discuss but after your responses on here a call would be full of gaslighted and no acceptance on your part. Please address our concerns listed in our review for...
Read moreThis place got me back into MTG
Like, got back into. Not just sold me product and sent me out the door but broke it all down.
Whether you’re new or comming back into the game, or a vet that’s been playing for a while. I’d highly recommend this store for a number of reasons, I’d hope you as the reader will find compelling.
They explained the product, the packs, the decks, what is what. They make recommendations based on what you need, not what they want to sell you.
Fair pricing, imo in comparison to other LGS in the north metroplex, this place is usually $5 to sometimes $10 dollars under MSRP on sealed product.
Has something for everyone; they also have a massive collection of singles on display and behind the counter as well. They use TCG player as their pricing scale. Which I find to be fair.
Fair sell rates in comparison to other shops; this shop does 30%? Out the door cash or 70% back in store credit. Others typically tend to have a bit of a less flexible spread.
5.inviting atmosphere, I’ve played many weeks of casual edh here. Everyone at the store I’ve played with has been chill, easy going and easy to get along with. It’s why I keep comming back tbh. The player community is patient with new comers too. Not every community is like this from my experience. All the regulars are great group of guys, and I’m thankful that they are willing to play with me even though I was newer! Now I’m workin on my own decks.
Highly recommend for mtg product. The variety, the service, the quality of accessories they carry, the people, the ability to purchase singles easily, community that offers and fosters competitive and casual play. This is a great store to support, they push to foster a sense of community which is what MTG is all about!
Edit- wanted to add more to really do this...
