I ended up at this location by a mistake, not realizing that this location was not the much better location about a mile away in Richardson. I’ve had one experience with Chick Fil A that was less than stellar (hello Forest lane location!) but none where an employee was outright rude. It’s against CFA’s brand and is almost unheard of.
Today I had a very rude experience with an employee named Carlos. I had a simple question about how to use the Chick Fil A app, which he was unable to answer due to a) poor customer service attitude and b) his extremely limited English skills. (I am Hispanic myself and my father’s second language is English, so I sympathize with those who struggle with English, but DON’T put them in customer service positions that require basic English skills).
I was unable to communicate with Carlos at all. I repeated myself four, five times in order to drive away with my simple meal and the correct number of sauces that I asked for. At no point did Carlos smile, apologize for misunderstanding me to such an excessive degree, or even say the trademark “my pleasure”. After about 7 consecutive misunderstandings due to him not speaking much English, he stuck his hand out the window with my food without even looking at me for a second. I had to ask for the straw in his hand three times for him to understand me.
I expect people to not speak any English and subpar customer service at other fast food chains, but come on, Chick Fil A! The reason everyone loves this franchise is because customer service is almost always excellent. I hope the owner of this chain sees my review and either helps Carlos learn the English necessary for this role, or don’t put him serving in the drive thru window. Very disappointing. I placed 2 order because the site wouldn’t allow an order over $100. When I arrived for pickup … atleast 3 workers walked right past me… didn’t say hello or ask if I needed any help. One of the reps finally came by and asked if I needed assistance. I advised I was there to pickup. He looked on the computer and claimed my orders weren’t in. I asked him to look again…. He then found 1 … apparently the other one didn’t come through. Instead of asking me if I wanted to place the order again… he just walked away….. he comes back maybe 2 minutes later with the first order I placed and places it infront of me. I ask him to return the order as my second order didn’t come through and I need to place it however the food would be cold by the time they prepared the second one. He grabs the bags and walks off. I place my second order online and I call him over to check the system for it… it’s there … they make the order … and bring over the bags …. No apologies ….. no thank you. If it were just my good. I absolutely would have gone elsewhere. This location has the worst customer service I’ve ever received at any Chick fil A. Not to mention my salad wasn’t even fresh.
