Good typical peruvian food! Being a native peruvian and a little of a cook I consider myself quite picky whenever going out for dinner and especially if this entails peruvian cuisine. I have previously heard good comments about this place and wanted to honestly give it a try. The locations seems a little remote to be honest (in front of an abandoned mall/shopping center). The place was nicely decorated and appeared to have a warming touch to it. We were greeted and served warmly. For appetizer we shared a leche de tigre (which is the extra sour ceviche juice with bites of fish marinated, peruvian corn and some onions... very refreshing especially for summer time with a cold ice beer!). I chose the lomo saltado which was indeed top sirloin well marinated and smoked, maybe lacked a little extra strength with a kick of aji amarillo. My wife got the tallarines verdes con asado (eye of round) which was cooked to perfection, extremely tender and tasty. Finally my friend ordered the carapulcra (dry potato stew with pork chop) which was tasty and well executed. For dessert the creme brulee made with lucuma was a pleasant surprise and the chicha morada to drink was certainly home made although lacked a little extra strength. Definitively would recommend. This is currently the best peruvian restaurant in DFW and I hope they continue to improve in both flavor and service for all our pleasure!

It was not just the food, it’s the energy. The moment we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile. Then Eliseo, the owner of the restaurant showed up with another big smile welcoming us. We felt at home immediately. Our server, César, arrived to offer wine options. We were pleased with our choice. We started our meal with an ‘Empanada’. The main dishes were deliciously ‘Chef’s Kiss’. The portions were on point and the presentation was appealing to the appetite. This place has an ambiance and to top it off there was live music to dance. We went to Lima Taverna in the recommendation from a friend. And now, we are highly recommending this restaurant to you. It’s the best of Lima Perú. We were also inspired by the slideshow pictures displayed. Now my husband and I are planning to visit Lima. Thanks for a delightful experience. Cheers 🥂

We came here to celebrate a dear friend's birthday since she said it was her favorite and now we know why! Everything was incredible. I recommend trying the ceviche and papas as an appetizer. For entrees, I suggest everyone order something different, so you can try all the different flavors infused in each dish. Ordering a fresh side of fried yucca is also a must. We tried 3 different desserts including one that wasn't on the menu, but worth ordering -picarones. They're donuts made out of sweet potatoes! Yum! The service was one-of-a-kind. The staff makes you feel so welcomed and like family-they helped make my friend's birthday even more special. Muchisimas gracias por todo!!

Visited Lima Taverna with my girlfriend for brunch on a Sunday. Walked in at 11:10AM. There was only one other table the entire time we were there. Took 5 mins to be seated. I ordered the Lomito al jugo and my girlfriend ordered the Belgian waffles. 5 minutes later my girlfriend’s water was empty and it was not refilled once over the course of the meal. About 25 minutes after we ordered the waitress brings two orders of Belgian waffles. I explained this wasn’t what I ordered. Somehow she misunderstood our order, but instead of asking what I ordered and bringing it to me, she acted as though I changed my mind upon seeing the waffles and wanted something else. I’m not a fan of desserts or sweet things like pancakes or waffles. I always choose savory over sweet, so there’s no argument there, I haven’t eaten a Belgian waffle in over a decade because I just prefer other dishes. Why should I have to explain why I wouldn’t order a dish to help her understand she made a mistake?! Anyway, we finish the meal. The food was not bad, I’d give it a 7/10. Not the best I’ve had, but certainly not terrible. So she brings the check and I notice she forgot to take off the second order of waffles. I bring it up and she smiles and says, “well, I mean you ordered it. So I can’t take it off.” I quickly explained that I wasn’t paying for an entree I didn’t order and was still sitting on the table untouched. After arguing with her for a few more minutes, she finally took the second order of waffles off of the check. Needless to say, we will not be back. This is one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. Quite unfortunate because I look for small, family-owned restaurants like these to frequent but after that experience there’s just no way I’d give it...

Unfortunately, not a good Peruvian food experience. We had: Beef anticucho: what we were expecting: two sticks of aji panca, overnight marinated beef heart square medallions, usually 4 or 5 per stick. what we got: one stick (it did say 1 stick on the menu) with two (yes, 2!) barely seasoned, not marinated, stiff beef meat medallions. And at that they were VERY unevenly sized. Looking at other people who got the same, some got 3 medallions, some got 2. Terrible! Beef empanada: what we were expecting: a BAKED pastry dough filled with thoroughly seasoned beef pieces. what we got: a DEEP FRIED pastry dough filled with sufficiently seasoned beef pieces. While acceptable in taste, definitely not acceptable in execution. Lomo saltado: what we expected: soft and tender stir fried beef sirloin strips, marinated in soy sauce (optionally you can add a bit of oyster sauce), sauteed with red onions and tomatoes, served with fries and white rice. what we got: soft and tender beef cubes cooked to order (I asked for medium rare). While the cook was nearly flawless, the quality of the meat wasn't uniform. Additionally, I'm not sure if the beef was seasoned with garlic, and the flavor had too much oyster sauce and not enough soy sauce, where the consistency of the run off was not as fluid as I would expect. And the prices were excessive for the quality and quantity of food received. And while I understand there was an event at the restaurant (birthday party) I expect waiters to pay attention to their tables: 22% forced gratuity for sporadic service was not welcome. All in all, a bad experience. Would not go...

The service was terrible. I knew the food would be overpriced here. Just looking at what atmosphere they're going for. Wine and dine. When I kept asking for the lunch special the server was very argumentative and very hostile. Trying to sell me on an old fish soup half price. When I told him I simply just wanted anything from the lunch special only. By the way, the lunch special is overpriced and you only get one plate and it's half portion. You don't get a soup, you don't get a drink. You don't get nothing but half portion of the original plate. Same price if you were to go down the block. It's about $20 and you don't even get what you want. They didn't have Loma salado on the lunch special, which is the main thing peruvians are known for they had Chicken Salado what in the world is that?!!!! Anyways, a server was argumentative. Very hostile and rude. Maybe because after finding out the gratuity and seeing how I was dressed he figured I wouldn't tip. And I would not have tipped anyways This man was very aggressive. Very argumentative talking over me trying to get his point across. Just very ignorant in my point of view. I don't recommend anyone supporting this place but it's your money. For overpriced food, I haven't even tried The quality of food it yet so I can't critique on that. But if they're trying to sell me on old fish soup that was $36 for half price I would not want to eat here. I'm looking for fresh Peruvian food. I'm never coming to this place again due to the...
