When Dad asked if my sister and kids and I wanted to go and check out the trail I thought why not? I had no idea it was right on the Pocomoke River and would be such a beautiful walk! The Just Walk Event will be on June 1st again this year according to their website and Im hoping it gives me the chance to do the Cypress Park Trail again! Even if youre not going to the event, the trail itself is definitely worth checking out. . . . #naturetrail #trail #justwalk #event #walking #trails #naturewalk #pocomoke #river #maryland #unitedstates #boards #blind #visuallyimpaired #cane #specialneeds #familyfun #park #traveltok #traveltiktok #explore

I can only give this trail a rating of 2 at this time. I went a couple or so years ago and was sorely disappointed. After reading Discovery Nature Trail, Pocomoke City, MD, by Ritchie C. Shoemaker; I decided to give it another try. Furthermore, the Pocomoke site continues positive reasons one should walk this trail. It also advertises one can run and use the provided exercise equipment. Thankfully the bike that was in the water, along the trail, had been removed since my last visit. The trail looks like it was once a wonderful spot to walk, relax and even exercise. There is still beauty here. However, there is so much in disrepair! What remains of the exercise equipment is rusted, nails exposed, fallen apart.... Pieces of the boardwalk are either missing or broken. Memorial markers have been defaced or removed. I wish the place would not be advertised until it fixed up. I would not mind being apart of a project to restore it.

Note that Google Maps will drop you off on Rt 13 bridge if trying to reach the trail head that is actually by the town's pier and Pocomoke City river area. The trail ends at the canoe and kayak drydock launcher and Pocomoke City Nature Trail's fishing pier (drawbridge not visible at this point). The signs also claim that this is Pocomoke City Nature Trail and not Cypress Trail, nor indicating any national forest.

A neat little trail. You can access it from both sides of the highway, but it is easier to get to on the west side of 13. It is part of a riverside park which has a playground, tennis and basketball court, and an outdoor stage. The riverside portion of the trail is in decent condition and has ramps to make it easily accessible. Some of the trail through the woods has had roots grow up underneath it causing it to tilt, but it seems quite sturdy. The trail is a mixture of boardwalk and dirt path. Maybe a mile roundtrip. I included a stroll through downtown Pocomoke and...
