I can only give this trail a rating of 2 at this time. I went a couple or so years ago and was sorely disappointed. After reading Discovery Nature Trail, Pocomoke City, MD, by Ritchie C. Shoemaker; I decided to give it another try. Furthermore, the Pocomoke site continues positive reasons one should walk this trail. It also advertises one can run and use the provided exercise equipment. Thankfully the bike that was in the water, along the trail, had been removed since my last visit. The trail looks like it was once a wonderful spot to walk, relax and even exercise. There is still beauty here. However, there is so much in disrepair! What remains of the exercise equipment is rusted, nails exposed, fallen apart.... Pieces of the boardwalk are either missing or broken. Memorial markers have been defaced or removed. I wish the place would not be advertised until it fixed up. I would not mind being apart of a project...
Read moreA neat little trail. You can access it from both sides of the highway, but it is easier to get to on the west side of 13. It is part of a riverside park which has a playground, tennis and basketball court, and an outdoor stage. The riverside portion of the trail is in decent condition and has ramps to make it easily accessible.
