Driving through Pocomoke around lunch time. Googled and saw this place. First, google directions take you to the back of the restaurant. Very confusing. So we walked along the dock and saw an entrance. There was a sign that said to enter around the front of the building but there was no clear "front." Walked up the deck and there were several piles of feces right outside the door. It had been there awhile. That should have been the signal to turn around. We walk in this door and it opens to what seemed to be a cleared out event space (possibly cleared dining area.) Two gentlemen were speaking when we entered and I said we must have come through the wrong entrance. One guy said we did and the main entrance was around front and there was a sign outside. I said I saw the sign, but this entire area was confusing. About ready to turn around he said we could go through these double doors. Now, we go to the hostess stand where there were three people waiting. The bar was full, patio looked full restaurant had less people. We are all waiting around, no hostess, when these two older women walked in and said they never had to wait before. One went to the bartender and asked if we all had to wait. She said yes, she'd be right with us. The guy who told us the entrance was around front came up and started seating people. I asked if they were short staffed and he said no. It is always him and "whatever server" who comes in. He gets us waters and leaves. Several minutes go by and the poor waitress/bartender comes over and apologizes. More people keep coming in too. I said it was fine. We ordered and she left. I watched as a 10 top came in. 2 more 2 tops and a 4 top. Was told by the server that the guy was the owner. He is seating people and runs a few plates out to the patio. He also makes a few drinks. Meanwhile the poor server is running in circles. Another 10 top comes in. A few tables left. Some had finished eating. Some never had service. I counted how many guests were there...over 40 and that's when the next 10 top walks in. The owner tells them they are "short staffed." 🤔 and says he has a booth open but all other tables were dirty. Instead if bussing tables or running food, he goes behind the bar and makes the 10 top drinks "while they wait." Meanwhile the server is trying to keep up. Food isn't coming out of the kitchen. After waiting 32 minutes after we placed our order with no real end in sight we got up and left. I felt bad for the server/bartender but we didn't have that much time to kill. Not the best experience, might have been a one time incident though. It's a great location with a great view. A shame they were...
Read moreJust went for like lunch with a guest maybe 10people in the place so not to busy. I ordered Boom boom shrimp tacos they came to me cold like they just walked out of the fridge with them . When the Wait staff finally came over to the tabl my guess was done eating their lunch. I asked her if they were supposed to be served cold because when I've had them there before they were not. She said maybe some of the stuff in the taco made the shrimp cold. I looked at her like she had 2 heads. She said I'll have them make you more I said not necessary and handed her the plate with 2 of the three cold shrimp tacos, mind you I picked at the first one in surprise. I mean I wasn't gonna wait while my guest had asked for a box . She came back a few minutes later with same tacos said you want me to wrap these up they are gonna make you new ones. I said no and I guess box them because I'm not gonna eat them right now because we were about to leave. She ask if we wanted check we said yes. She came back with the check and says the tacos would be out soon. I was charged for a meal I didn't get to enjoy hot and when I wanted to eat it. And had to wait for tacos that were gonna get cold anyway. I was so irritated at this point I wanted to just pay and leave. But no I waited getting more irritated. Enough to write a damn review. Well i got 2 taco of the 3 hot to go...only to be served cold later anyway. SmdH I had to pay for the meal so what was the point in telling them you didn't like the food they served me only to serve it to...
Read moreEverything here is amazing. Our server was Candace and she was fantastic! Super personable, had great recommendations, and very kind and upbeat. I told her - and I mean it 1000% - that Gordon Ramsay himself would have nothing to fix here. The food is fresh and homemade. The view is amazing. The drinks are fantastic. The people are wonderful.
I ordered the special (which was a local-styled chicken sandwich cooked bone-in before having the bone removed for serving) with hand-cut fries. I also ordered the crab soup (seasoned to perfection), and the jumbo pretzel (which came with an amazing crab dip and a fresh cracked mustard dip that had the most wonderful sweet after taste). They don't skimp on the crab meat either! I also had the Acai Blueberry Crush and my brother had the Watermelon crush - you could tell they were using fresh ingredients rather than pre-made mixers in them and they were delicious.
At first I thought that serving food in to-go style containers was a bit odd, but it actually added to the fun atmosphere and it made packing leftovers easy since, well, they were already packed!
Cannot recommend them enough. This is my second time here (first for lunch) and I will make it a habit to visit every time I'm down to visit my...
