This theater has disapointed me GREATLY on multiple occasions! The latest mistreatment I suffered at their hands was the last straw, and I do not intend to ever go back. For the release of New Moon, myself and a group of friends and co-workers came to an arrangement with the manager of the Bonner Mall Cinemas. The deal was, that if we bought at least 15 tickets in advance, we would be given VIP treament and be allowed to enter the theater through the back 30 minutes before showtime. That's it... just being allowed to find our seats, which we prepaid for in bulk, before they opened the doors. This was not a private screening. We prepaid for 32 tickets two weeks in advance. 2 days before the showing, but after our check had cleared, the manager informed us that the deal was off and that we would have to wait in line. We were told that we were not even allowed to save a place in line for the group! The manager of this establisment needs to be fired! This is not the first disapointment. I have have been to many showings where the picture fuzzed, and was not fixed until customers left their seats to complain! During a viewing of Iron Man there were faint lines down the center of the screen for the entire movie. Then at the end I stayed through all of the credits to see the special sneak peek, only to have the picture go out as soon as the sneak peek began! The staff always appear more interested in each other than in any needs of the customers, and have been downright rude on several occasions! On one occasion they refused to refill my "bottomless" tub of popcorn because the credits were rolling in the movie I'd seen. Wrost business decision I've ever heard. Just give me the extra quarter worth of popcorn, which I spent $5.50 on, and keep me as a customer! I can tell you that, after this treatment, Bonner Mall Cinemas has lost at least 32 customers, who will now drive to Couer D' Alene for all of their...
Read moreI have been going to the Bonner Mall Cinema for approximately 8 years. I have always had fantastic service. We go to the movies approximately 1 to 2 x a month. The employees are very friendly and while they maybe young they are always very helpful. They recently upgraded their screens and sound. The show prices and concession prices are substantially cheaper than the bigger theaters in CDA and Spokane. The popcorn is almost always fresh. The restrooms clean. It is a small town theater and the several bad reviews I read seem completely out of character for the atmosphere and service I have received. Approximately a year ago, we had a movies sound go very low and it was hard to hear. I went and told the manager and they fixed it right away. They were very apologetic. They did not replace my tickets, but I did not ask them to either. Perhaps if I had asked they would have. I do not know. It was about 5 minutes of a show. They did give me a replacement ticket when I took my son who was about 2 at the time to the theater and I had to leave because he was scared of the noise. They have also been very helpful when I take my 14 year old son and my 7 year old and they want to watch different movies.
I wouldn't mind seeing some new seating. The chairs are quite old and many of the springs are stretched out and the chair leans back very far. They are not so terrible that I won't watch a movie. I would like to mention that the text show times are not...
Read moreI have lived in Sandpoint since 2008 and been to this theater many, many times. Is it a extravagant classy place? Well, no. But it is a typical small town theater trying to compete with theaters in the nearest neighboring cities that have much larger populations. They are making upgrades to their sound equipment and fairly recently added 3D. Yes the employees are mostly teens, but they are friendly and give the impression that they really do want to please the customer. Given these circumstances, expecting anything more is not realistic.
I used to be one of those easily offended people that pushed the limits of expectations for a business and felt justified to criticize when they finally drew the line. Please don't let such reviews sway you; fortunately they are pretty...
