When in office depot, I asked an employee to help me with a desk. I asked if they had it and He looked up the item number for me and said yes we have the desk. Let me go get it. He came up front with a huge box while I was at the counter paying for the desk. I made it back to my office, opened the box, and it was the wrong desk! I called and was told to come back. I went back to office depot and spoke to the mamanger. He said which desk did you want...I showed him and he looked it up and said "unfortunately we are out of stock". I requested for the manager...he told me "im the manager". I began letting him know my disappointment in them because the worker made the decision to get a desk and did NOT tell me that they were initially out of stock. Do not make a decision for a customer if you are out of an item. Let the customer make the decision on what they want to purchase, if you are out of something. I did not like the desk that was given to me during my first visit. I had to settle for a desk I did not want. The manager told me there wasn't anything he could do. I asked to buy the desk off the show room floor. It was 89.99. He told me he couldn't do that because it wasn't discontinued (which i understand). But now I'm stuck with a desk I'm...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at the Port Arthur Office Depot printing center. I came into the store urgently needing to print important documents for court, and not only was I refused assistance, but the staff showed no empathy or willingness to help in a timely manner.
I was directed to use the self-service print station without any real guidance. When I asked for help, I was told I would have to wait 45 minutes for assistance — even though I was the only person in line at the time and clearly explained that I needed to be in court in 20 minutes. There were no other customers waiting, and the store was not busy, yet I was still dismissed.
When I asked to speak with the manager, he backed up the employee and told me they had to take care of customer orders that had come in before mine — completely disregarding the urgency of my situation. There was absolutely no sympathy, no sense of urgency, and no effort to make the situation right.
This experience showed a complete lack of customer service and basic human decency. I understand there are policies, but when someone is clearly in a bind and needs help, there should be some flexibility or at least compassion. Unfortunately, this store...
Read moreI went into office Depot to get programs made for my Father in law memorial service. I emailed the program to there email address. I informed the clerk that I wanted to go the cheapest way, because they were only one sheet front and back. After giving me a price for 60-75 programs, I decided to go with the 60, no knowing that their were other options total, $83.14 including taxes. Before leaving out, a lady came to the counter and said she needed a print out of her receipt from the copier. I asked the clerk, that if the family needed more copies, would they have to go through the whole process of giving the email or could they just use the copier that I just saw this lady use. He said that they would have to have a flash drive or they could use, in my case, one of the programs. I asked would it be the same price of $1.46 to make the copy, "no, it would be much, much cheaper". If he would've explained other options to me, when I informed him, that I wanted to go the cheapest way possible, I wouldn't have spent an excessive amount of money for funeral programs. I understand that the employees are to make money for the company, but this was highway robbery....
