Sept, 3rd, 2018 - Lake Erie is wonderful to visit for a day, but I've been to better beaches. The beach at Lakeview Park is pretty clean, up to water edge. Entering the water is quite treacherous because of the many rocks, some very large, and some very sharp. A friend suffered a minor wound to his left foot from a sharp rock. Once beyond the rocks, there are 3 very shallow sand bars making swimming a chore. You must walk quite a distance out to enjoy a swim. I still always love Lake Erie, but wish local municipalities would maintain this beach by raking and removing the dangerous rocks. The food from the snack bar at Lake View Park was a 4 out of 10.....bring your own food. Regardless of my complaints, I will visit Lakeview...
Read moreThe park itself is well equipped and beautiful in the main park area. My family's purpose there was to visit the beach. Access to the beach was convenient. However, I definitely felt it needed some serious TLC. There were construction materials in the water, glass, trash, and a lot of dead fish on the shoreline. It seems like the city might want to work on keeping the area clean and more presentable considering it's a reasonably large attraction for the area. The main park has bathrooms and an outdoor shower to wash the sand off, which was nice. Read moreIn addition to a lake view -this park just across the street from Lake Erie beach (with access to walk beach) also has a picnic pavilion and an amazing playground - that looks like sooo much fun for children of all ages. They have creative play areas for kids to enjoy including a boat and lighthouse as well as some unusual fun playground equipment such as a conveyer belt type rollers that kids lay on and use bars above to propel self along, all kinds of neat slides of different sizes, some with rollers, swings -traditional and zip line which include a few equipped with seatbelts to secure children to provide access for those...
