Bell Mell Tavern & Pizza — Restaurant in Port Clinton

Stay away. I grew up here and this place was good with awesome pizza. The pizza is still great, but the service is very bad. I came in on a cold day and ordered chili and a gluten free pizza. Ate all of it, which is extraordinary for me to to eat.

I had one wine with the chili/pizza and ordered another for relaxing with cinnamon pretzel bread. Unfortunately, I bent my head down and was obviously rubbing my neck. Next thing, the barmaid slapped me in the head, took my full wine and tossed it. All the while yelling “you can’t sleep here.”I said Wha. . .? I wasn’t sleeping , instead I was thinking, three paragraphs deep, in an email to my insurance adjuster who is handling the destruction of my home.

She took my entire second wine and tossed it in the garbage because she said, this guy at the bar said I was sleeping. Who is he? Have no clue.

She had no morality clause serving up doubles to her favorites at the bar. They were obviously drunk, however this is not my problem so why would I get mixed up in someone else’s issues? I wouldn’t.

Employees need a lesson on professionalism. Extremely rude! Not appreciated. My daughter had the same experience few weeks ago. I guess I had to experience it for myself to believe it. Acted like a child stomping their feet when they realized they didn't recieve a tip for a carry out order. You made the food, you did your job. Dining in is expected. Delivery is expected but never a guarantee. I worked in a pizza shop for years and to expect a tip is pitiful. Then to yell, I quote "The nerve of some people to not give a tip, so ridiculous" and throw the reciept down like a child that didnt get their way. Comical to watch if you have ever seen this for yourself. If your unhappy keep it to yourself, at least until the customer leaves. Just shows how low you really are. You have got to do better. The food is great and my families favorite. Such a shame to have people who are rude and so unprofessional...

Bell Mell Tavern in Port Clinton is the ultimate live music spot! We came out last night to see Meager Kings and Reggae Lou & the Kind Buds, and the show was KILLER! I’ve never experienced a bar with this kind of high-energy performance and talent, massive shoutout to Next Level Wall Murals for putting it all together.

The vibe was electric, the drinks were affordable, and the bartenders were super friendly. This hidden gem is hands-down one of the best bars with live music in Port Clinton. Whether you’re into rock, reggae, or just looking for a fun night out, Bell Mell Tavern is the place to be.

I never would’ve known about this spot if my friend Chris hadn’t told me and he did not disappoint. I’ll definitely be back for the next round...
