Waterworks Park — Attraction in Port Clinton

This waterfront/beachfront park has beautiful views of Lake Erie, and offers up the chance to get your toes in the sand! Living in central Ohio that is sometimes pretty difficult, but you get a sense of "beach life" here. There are quite a bit of shells broken up in the sand, and I think if you plan on running around you might want some sandals you don't mind getting a bit wet, but it's not a huge deal if not. You cannnnnnnnot swim in this beach. Way too much rocks when you first go in the water and was really painful to walk in.. couldn’t last more than 5 minutes and came out with the kids because it was just to painful to walk on those rocks. The sand has allot of dead fish that are washed out and seagulls are all over those fish. Many fish bones are in the sand makes for a dangerous walk as I had one poke me on my foot. We enjoy going there every time we go up to Port Clinton we just like to sit in the car and look out over the water.I see a lot of people walking their dogs, it's a good place to let the kids run and have fun. I see a lot of people fishing along the canal that comes in from the lake. it's a great place to sit there and watch all the sailboats come and go and you can see the jet express coming and going.
