Beaufort-Jasper YMCA of the Lowcountry — Attraction in Port Royal

Very bad center, especially for the kids. The staff doesn't pay attention to what's going on. Instead, they blame things on kids that isn't called for. I will be advising all of my friends not to use this center as a source for childcare. They don't feed the kids breakfast in the mornings and give the kids cold food everyday. You also have to provide your kids with snacks which I find very inexcusable. As high as childcare is, they should be able to provide a hot breakfast, a decent lunch and healthy snacks. Instead, they don't have time for anyone's child and provide the most terrible care imaginable. The only thing that these wicked people care about is your hard earned money. Parents, take what your kids say when they explain even the worst situations to you as the staff can never keep their stories straight and don't want to be bothered with your child. I witnessed a staff member telling kids to shut up. Why would an uneducated staff member be working there? My child couldn't even use the bathroom because a staff member told my child not to go. Apparently the supervisor is just as bad because the hogs are still there working. YOU ALL ARE WARNED! Staff members are only there for a paycheck. Your child(ren) are NOT important. I won't be letting my kids attend this vile facility again. Spend your money elsewhere or if you can, take care of...

So I was a member at this Y for years and I never had an issue. The staff was decent, facilities were taken care of, and though the membership cost was high it was worth it. Then I had to cancel my membership because of a move, and it has been a gruelling and downright rude process. After being told I couldn't cancel, then getting told I could but I had to be there in person, then finally getting it taken care of, I continued getting charged for my membership. Once I called 50 times I was told it was taken care of and I wouldn't see any more charges.

UNTIL A YEAR AND A HALF LATER. Yes, it's a level of efficiency only rolling cheese wheels achieve! After a year and a half of hearing NOTHING from them, they send me an invoice for a final month of membership from over a year prior. Good luck getting out of this sand pit with your wallet, sanity, or patience. Glad to know they don't do any bookkeeping for a year, especially since they have your credit cards on file.

Let me start by saying I was lied too about there account policy I specifically asked when I put my account on hold if they would contact & cancel the account and not just pull the money out of my bank account well they have been charging me for the past 4 months that is $224 dollars of my hard earned money stolen from me I thought my money was safe in the bank luckily I caught it on my bank statement before they kept on charging me for service not even rendered on top of that there are always kids or seniors in the pool and gym area the building is way to small your elbow to elbow in the small gym area waiting for one person to get off so u can use the equipment imo lazy & rude staff they do not offer enough for what's a really over priced membership and they don't need anymore members they cannot cramp anymore people in the building so if there was a 0 star rating they would have it all they care about is your money I would not recommend this...
