Port Royal Skateboard Park — Attraction in Port Royal

Sunday-Friday, this is a cool place to take the kids, walk the trail, or just ppl watch. Saturday morning is a whole different story. The Farmers Market is not the problem, it's the entitled ppl that feel like they can park IN THE ROAD & go shop while holding up traffic. Or the ppl that block the intersection to let ppl out of the car, or ppl standing in the middle of the road to hold a spot for someone that's down the street doing an illegal u-turn to get a parking space. And for whatever reason, Port Royal police drive around this area everyday, all day but on Saturdays, Nothing!...

Beautiful park. We didn't visit for the ramps though, and just wanted to enjoy the playground. The big wooden boat was cool. It was mostly just for climbing and walking on. It feels more like a decoration. If there was a ship wheel, or other interactive things around it, then it would be five stars. We ended up swinging more than anything, and taking pictures of the trees. There's also an interesting sculpture there. I am not sure what it is. The description is worn off, and the rest is a little rusty. Maybe they'll fix it up...

Awesome park! Well built and covered, making it both an outdoor and undercover spot to skate.

My only caveat is that most of the ramps and elements are not really the best for people just starting to skate. Otherwise it is a lot of fun. They even have an awesome transformer rail (rotates from a flat rail to a circle rail).

Also, be aware that because the parking area is surrounded by sand, located by the coast, and outside, the ramps can get a bit slippery, even more so than a...
