I've used Dogtopia twice, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing.
The first time, we used their boarding service for a couple of nights. We brought our dog's bed, but when we came to pick her up, we were informed that the bed had been mistakenly given to another dog owner and was destroyed. There was no follow-up from their side until I emailed them multiple times. Eventually, they agreed to credit me with a few nights of boarding, but the lack of effort in customer care was frustrating. I assumed it might have been due to new staff or poor communication between team members.
The second time we used their boarding service, things were even worse. When I arrived to pick up my dog during their business hours, the front door was locked, and no one was at the front desk. I called multiple times, but no one answered. Thinking someone might just be running late, I waited for about 40 minutes and eventually had to call another branch to get help. After nearly an hour, someone finally came to open the door. To make matters worse, my dog had a deep cut on her ear, and the staff claimed she had done it to herself. The truth? Who knows, it's not like I can ask my dog, the staff didn't seem to care much anyway.
While they advertise that they care for our dogs and provide camera access, my experiences suggest otherwise. The staff turnover rate seems high, and they appear to be severely understaffed. Based on these issues, I don't feel confident in the level of care my dog received and will not use their...
Read moreWhile we had prior good experiences, our dog was left in a cage over 16 hours on a recent Sunday. No one was scheduled to work that day. It took hours to pick up our dog. While we ultimately got a call from corporate, we have yet to hear from the local owner. Our dog is scared to get in the car now. This was neglect. I don’t blame the hardworking sweet employees. Who owns this location? Where are they? Why don’t they care when a major mess up happens? I waited a few days before posting this, but the silence of the local ownership is surprising. We will go elsewhere and I’d encourage others to do likewise. Mistakes happen. But owner-operators should step up and take responsibility. Neglecting dogs like this...
Read moreMy dachshund Cleo has bad separation anxiety, but since being here, his behavior and anxiety has changed SO much for the better! He is a brand new dog. He loves it here and is treated so well by staff and coaches. They have webcams for you to access to check in on your pups during the day, which is very reassuring. The facilities are sparkly clean and the staff is so friendly and sweet. They remember every dog and parent’s names and make you feel very special! Plus they have events/themed days/fun activities nearly everyday. It is worth every single penny - if you’re on the fence, this is your...
