Garden Home Dugout — Restaurant in Portland

This is a cute bar, and probably a great place to relax with friends after work. We, however, being in town for business, went for the food and outdoor seating. We were given menus, and then since we weren't yet ready to order, ask for a few minutes. We unfortunately didn't see the bartender again. About 5 min after we arrived, the first person came out on the small patio to smoke. We then, with the small space, deliberated on going inside. After two more came out onto the little 4 or 5 table outdoor patio area to smoke, we decided to definitely go inside. We sat inside near the bar for another 5 minutes, could see the cook in the corner of the cute little kitchen cleaning and prepping, but couldn't see the bartender. Unfortunately, we finally decided to try elsewhere. I do not know how good the food is, so it got the middle of the road rating. I believe, based on the size of the kitchen, this is a great late night social bar with pub food. But not necessarily a restaurant. They are always upbeat, cheerful and have fun, it’s always like going to hangout with your friends when those two ladies are working.ive never seen them loose their cool when it came to dealing with unruly customers or being slammed with a full house.
