WOW! Expansive! Maintained! Incredible! Adjectives! Thesaurus! Awesome! Enjoyable! WOAH 😳! I was finishing a trail when I came upon this park. There is so much to explore as well as just sitting down to relax and take in the great views of Casco Bay and Fort Gorges. There are several war memorials and a memorial to 9-11. A playground, basketball 🏀 court, tennis 🎾 courts and a community garden are nearby. Green hills, where people were sitting or laying down relaxing 😎. There is parking 🅿️ either on the street above the park or at the bottom of the park. You can access the park from the rail trail along the waterfront. Trash cans are available but I still found litter 🚯. Fortunately, it was very, very limited. I recommend a visit to this park! If you don't mind hills that are not alive to the sound of music 🎵, stop by.

🌳Beautiful, Water-side Park🌳 Built in 1890s, Fort Allen Park is a 10-acre, historical, urban park that features artifacts from the USS Portland and USS Maine, as well as multiple memorials. It features a lovely view of the water, with plenty of trails to walk. There are also tables available for eating lunch or enjoying a picnic. Dogs are welcomed! In the summer, you might catch a group playing in the historic bandstand. If you're visiting Portland, Fort Allen Park is a beautiful spot to get outdoors and enjoy the local weather. If you're taking a tour base, you'll undoubtedly drive past this spot as well. You can occasionally see cruise ships docked at the port. It's open 24/7.

Took a nice walk along the shore, the trail is nice. Opportunity to kayak, with rental company available on site. Picnic tables available all along the trail as well as benches to take in the view. The right side of trail has stairs so if you have a stroller be prepared, but the left side of the trail is stroller/wheel chair friendly. These sides are determined as you are looking at the ocean. Restrooms available, small beach/swim area. Fishing area off the rocks. View of the cruise ship if it is in port. Free parking and dog friendly.

I totally loved our walk along the walking path that continues over to Baxter Boulevard. So many gorgeous Sights n things to do! Boat launch. Kayak n Boat Rentals. Panoramic View of Casco Bay n the Islands. Marinas on the path with Food Trucks n seating ... Drinks. Along the Street there are many Food Trucks with many options. Basketball, Tennis Courts, a play ground n plenty of parking. Very nice place for everyone.

Beautiful quintessential picturesque views with lots of benches and green space. You can walk or sit and just take in the ocean view. Bring a blanket and sit on the grass with a little picnic. There are hiking trails that go all around. In the evenings there is a community orchestra that plays chamber music. There are quite a few places to park all around. It gets chilly so bring a long sleeve something.

We went in winter so it it was a crisp wall with hands in pockets. Views of the inner islands of Cadco Bay near Portland, one with an old fort on it. You can start at the cliff/hill top and walk down to the boat ramp car park then wander the shoreline on the rocket beach, or follow the shared oath around to the bottom of the hill before walking through sailing/boat yards or back up the hill via steps.
